So Phillip’s wife’s name changed from Martha to Natalie?

He said he can lie on the memo. He was stressed yesterday so maybe he lied about the name ?

Possible, or maybe defragged memory does that to you. Just something I noticed and who knows it may become important. Might actually be a Natalie that just stuck in his mind because he heard it in the simulation?

Emily :
Alright. Let’s make a plan.
Emily :
Phillip has kids. I’m going to load the Park simulation to see if it gets us somewhere.
You :
Let’s go.
Emily :
Optimizing foliage rendering…
Emily :
Adjusting bird chirping audio…
Simulation Resumed
Emily :
Hey, Phil!
Phillip :
Nice to see you again. I missed you.
Emily :
Thank you, that’s so sweet!
Phillip :
It gets kind of lonely in here. Nothing to do except for ruminating on how I could have done better.
Emily :
Did you try to talk to the others?
Phillip :
Didn’t feel alone enough to put effort into contacting them.
Emily :
Why do they scare you like this?
Phillip :
I figured that if they are all poor saps that are stuck in here because they needed money like me, we’re not exactly a jolly bunch.
Emily :
That’s quite the defeatist analysis.
Phillip :
You can see where my optimism has brought me.
Phillip :
Anyway. It’s quite nice to be outside, even if I know none of this is real.
Simulation Paused
Emily :
Okay, what could make him talk?
You :
Suggest taking a stroll
Simulation Resumed
Emily :
Let’s take a stroll.
Phillip :
Yeah let’s walk a little. I need to stretch my legs.
Phillip :
This place reminds me a lot of the park I used to go with my sons.
Phillip :
You really nailed it, even got the sounds of the children playing.
Emily :
I try to keep my simulations as close to reality as possible. You know I’m just trying to help.
Phillip :
You missed one thing though.
Emily :
Something’s wrong?
Phillip :
There’s absolutely no smell. This part of the park was always packed with food trucks, and you got it right. But there was always this distinctive smell of hot-dogs and soft pretzels. And that part is missing.
Emily :
I’m definitely taking notes for next time.
Phillip :
Do you think I could order things from the truck?
Emily :
Hm. Yes, go on if you’d like.
Phillip :
What will I feel?
Phillip :
I mean… I hear children. I feel the wind and the sun on my face. Would I taste the pretzel?
Emily :
I cannot control the connections your brain will make in this situation, but it’s highly possible that you might be able to taste it indeed.
Phillip :
Wow.
Emily :
Do you want to go over by the food trucks?
Emily :
Phil?
Phillip :
Could you bring my wife and children into the simulation?
Emily :
You want to trap them here with you?
Phillip :
No. I…I want to see them. If I can eat that pretzel, I should be able to kiss my wife and hug my children.
Simulation Paused
Emily :
Nope. Not a good idea.
You :
Definitely not a good idea
Simulation Resumed
Emily :
I don’t think it’s a good idea, Phil.
Phillip :
I don’t know what’s good anymore.
Phillip :
I know you are trying to help me but I feel like I’m condemned to be stuck inside this simulation forever. It would mean the world to me to see Natalie and the children one last time.
Emily :
It won’t really be them.
Phillip :
I never got to say goodbye.
Simulation Paused
Emily :
Nope. Nope. Nope.
You :
Expose downsides
Simulation Resumed
Emily :
What you are suggesting could bring you harm instead of closure.
Phillip :
Yeah.
Phillip :
You’re probably right.
Phillip :
Give me the damn pretzel.
Emily :
Here you go.
Phillip :
Damn, that’s good.
Simulation Paused
Emily :
Do I try to comfort him or to change the mood?
You :
Change the mood
Simulation Resumed
Emily :
Did you ever think of opening a food truck instead of a “real” restaurant?
Phillip :
It’s funny that you ask.
Emily :
So that was in the plan?
Phillip :
Not at all. It just happens that food trucks were the cause of one of the most absurd moments in my life.
Emily :
I’m all ears.
Phillip :
In this very park, I made a fool of myself while talking to a reality show producer. The boys loved it.
Phillip :
You know those cooking show contests?
Emily :
I think I watched a couple of those, yes.
Phillip :
Well there was a live shooting here for one of those. Each contestant got his own food truck and needed to impress a panel of terrible judges.
Emily :
Yeah, I know what you’re talking about.
Phillip :
Believe it or not, the boys thought that was the perfect opportunity for me to go talk to the cameramen about my own wonderful idea for a cooking show.
Emily :
I don’t see how it could backfire!
Phillip :
Yeah right?
Emily :
So, basically, you went to pitch your big concept?
Phillip :
Ha ha, yeah! I didn’t want to let them down!
Emily :
I’m kind of dying to know what your idea was.
Phillip :
Hold on to your seat.
Phillip :
The concept was basically for the judges to hit the contestants with totally ridiculous dish names. The one who would cook the dish that matches best with the name would win.
Emily :
Sounds like an instant hit!
Phillip :
I mean… The judges would say something like “Moist Vampire Breakdown” and a contestant would come up with like….a deconstructed meatloaf with cranberry sauce.
Emily :
Oh my god.
Phillip :
I would call it “What’s for dinner”.
Emily :
Oh my god.
Phillip :
I am, indeed, a creative genius.
Emily :
You mostly just sound like a good dad. Way to go, putting yourself out there for your sons.
Phillip :
Thank you, that means a lot.
Emily :
I think we’re good for today, yeah?
Phillip :
Yeah. I’m looking forward to talk to you again.
Emily :
Goodbye.

Phil got quite comfortable at the end of the second interview. I’m glad he’s feeling a little better now.

And we learn that code can have spaces in it. Usefull for later.

Subject’s memories are corrupted. That’s kind of the point. That’s why we’re doing this.

Yeah but he also said he wasn’t a habitual liar…that he only lied out of necessity which wasn’t often…

Exact same text works OK for me. Try it again.

Is the previous solve showing green? Else it could be expecting the previous code first
