NMS Waypoint

Yes. I wonder if it is a glitch or if they are coming back

might explain why they haven’;t fixed the solar panels and batteries snapping to large buildings, if they are also fixing old parts…

Those are indeed oldschool parts which have never truly been removed, just were no longer made available by default. They possibly appear now due to changes to how it checks which parts to show? I have a base that still has these parts (Snake Oil Pit Stop).

I really hope they restore those parts. They worked great with all the cube-room pieces! I too have a restored base that still uses them. Sadly they can’t be copied or moved, only deleted.

I made a mod a long time ago that restored them to the build menu, but couldn’t quite get the new required snap-points right so I never released it. That stopped working years ago anyway, and I never felt motivated enough to give it another try.

I also really wish they’d restore the ability to buy the “Legacy” new-style parts in new saves. They may be less “complete” than the new sets, but they have their own nice distinct styles which I still like to use. I hate having to save-mod any new saves to add them, and poor console players are completely out-of-luck.

Not had a problem with saves at the moment, but then not played too long. The longest was last night for a couple of hours.

Anyone else notice that space stations don’t have aliens walking around anymore.? They all seem to be static again. Or did I imagine walking aliens before?

Nice being able to teleport stuff to/from freighter from anywhere (it’s set in gameplay->difficulty settings). Not really liking the new inventory UI but maybe I need to get used to it.

I notice that everyone’s “collected knowledge” numbers are different. Mine is 180/755 for my new save but other much older saves are 2324/2634. Does anyone know the maximum number of “collected knowledge” there are?

NPCs still walking around planet-side. But you are right, mine are also static on the Space Station but were moving around before

Ok, well good that my memory still works but sad HG have deleted a feature. Could it be Switch related? Or just forget to include it in PC version.

Another problem is that I picked up a glowing mineral but it doesn’t show in inventory. And yet I can see it when I go to sell. Glowing Mineral.

edit. Going back to a just docked station, after visiting a grave, and now the station is deserted!

I keep thinking…why call this waypoint.
an intermediate point on a route or line of travel .

So this is just a stop on the way…I wander the destination?

I don’t know the destination but the Atlas continues to get closer with each update… :scream:

Weeeeeelllll! That was a fun abortive three hours!
I like taking my time surveying and scanning and the reward for the Anomaly mission was something I wanted. I took it and landed on a planet that had storms that were so bad I could not see out the ship’s windshield. I did all the parts of the mission in small hops when the weather got better even though finding landing spots was almost impossible.

I was flying to the final destination to upload my findings when another storm blew up and trapped my ship in some rocky place that no matter what I did I could not get out of. I tried for half an hour, knowing just knowing it was going to scuttle mission if I tried to relog.

Eventually I had to give up. Nothing was going to get me out of there except reload. So I ended up back in the anomaly. hours of my time, rewards, everything, down the sewer pipe. But am I bitter?

(yes.)

Please implement an “unstuck” feature, Sean!

I have to say though that other than that head-banging (and ship-banging) experience, I was thoroughly enjoying my time on that planet, just chilling and doing the various mission elements without worrying about being attacked, or dying from the elements. I had opened an older save and set most things to easy mode. It was a grotesque planet, but an interesting one. And I got a pet there, but don’t know yet if I still have it.

Ok. /kvetch

Well that sounds like a trip to remember @TravelEcho
:upside_down_face:
Meanwhile, after warping a few times between the hangar and the bridge, I now have a new sparkle affect. :sparkles:

We kind of have that. You just walk for a bit and then summon your ship. Had to do it once or twice when the procedural lag lead to my ship accidentally getting parked in a cave unerneath my landing site.

I like to think that the update is “on the way” to a bigger planned future.

heh, I think I still have a profile with the base restoration feature from Next that has all those parts in it. I guess in theory i can still use them

Were you flying at the time? HG implemented an “emergency reverse gear” a while ago, but that doesn’t help when you get stuck under an overhang and then it bounces you into another one and my ship goes bounce/bounce/bounce/bounce/…/explode. The choice then is to quit the game (and all progress in the mission) or die in mid air. At least we don’t have to pickup our grave when dying while flying.

Good question, but no answer. I wonder if a clue is in the collected knowledge. Guess I have to do the Artemis quest yet again so I can read the lore. A time before Atlas? A time that comes after the Atlas? But this would be too big an idea unless they make another game. My lore remembrance is low, so I’m glad they’ve implemented the knowledge log.

Another great new feature in the settings. I have died in really strange places and it was impossible to pick up my grave. I died falling thru the space station and my grave was in the outer hull of the station…

 I wonder if it’s still there?

Yes,
Unfortunately the game would not let me get out and walk while I was still technically flying, crashing around over and over again, so I could call my ship. I knew it wouldn’t, but I tried a ridiculous number of times to do so before I gave up.

Perhaps an “Eject-Pilot-while-flying-but-not-landed” button would be more helpful, then. That could even be fun!

 I would say it is likely. And it is full of good stuff.

I wonder why the Gek have such a low word count?
Vy’Keen have 802 all of which I have learned
Korvax have 650
Gek only 350

yes. Flying. I think the complete whiteout of the storm prevented the cliffs/rocks/mountains from spawning before I got there so I ended up in my ship inside a rock. Or something. Bouncing and crashing.

Here is a pic of my position. So damn close to the finish. It doesn’t show the flashing and crashing, though.

If we die in mid-air, like when the ship 'splodes, can we continue with the anomaly mission? I suspect not.

If so, though, I may turn off that lovely feature that prevents the ship from taking damage. At least I think that is a feature? My ship was taking no damage for about half an hour before I reloaded last save.
