Not long to go now. Sean has been unusually quiet…
I imagine he will be tweeting about the end of expedition 2 tomorrow at the least. Hoping for a small update soon.

Strange occurrence: My expedition counter showed that it was ending this hour just a few hours ago. However when I just loaded back up, it shows another 3 hours for the expedition.

I had both this morning. Notices saying “Expeditions has ended” and also messages telling me it had four hours to go.
I expect it to end in around two hours time - 2.00 pm UTC, 3.00 pm BST.

Yup it appears to be related to some Time Zone glitch…but everything indicates we have 1.5 hours remaining. Also it appears UK has a holiday today…so might just get some SEAN tweets and nothing more. May not get anything for a while…but I suspect a small update…if nothing more than to enable the next Quick Silver Tier this week.

Ah, the stick that keeps developers humble. No matter how good you are, they will always find a way to screw you over.
Also, it would be interesting how many millions of dollars are lost each year to developers hunting for timezone glitches…

Dark Side of the Moon?
A clarification before we start speculating
"The ‘dark side’ of the Moon refers to the hemisphere of the Moon that is facing away from the Earth. In reality it is no darker than any other part of the Moon’s surface as sunlight does in fact fall equally on all sides of the Moon. It is only ‘dark’ to us, as that hemisphere can never be viewed from Earth due to a phenomenon known as ‘Tidal Locking’. A better term for the side we don’t see is the ‘far side’, rather than the ‘dark side’, which leads to all kinds of misconceptions. "
Tidal Locking catches my attention because that is what all planets in NMS are. Locked. No rotation

Well, this is vexing. On the one hand it’s pride month, so I would be inclined to just leave it at that. On the other hand, in combination with the triangle it clearly references the cover of dark side of the moon by pink floyd. If it was merely for pride months sake, I don’t see much reason for that.
I guess it could serve multiple purposes at once?
I don’t think it’s got anything to do with planetary rotation. They took that out on purpose (and at some cost), and I don’t think they’re going to ever put it back in.

Well, the ‘dark side of the moon’ is the side we never see. So there could be a reference there.
I agree, for pride month, why not use the flag or something more identifiable.
The image could also be a prism. Prisms are often made of glass. Refraction, dispersion of light…
Then again, this could all be completely wrong,

I first thought was the DLSS update as it was already announced that its coming. I imagine that they would also add something that has to do with lighting too. My second thought was the “world of glass”. But we all know THAT is too good to be true for a june update.

Well, obviously, as the album cover depicts a prism. It just seems to imitate it a bit too well for it to be a coincidence…
DLSS doesn’t really have anything to do with lighting, though. That’s for what’s commonly referred to as “anti-aliasing”.
