Think you’d have time to do a dump those Artemis dialogue strings for those who are too lazy to figure out how to do it and won’t be starting a new save for a while. Me. I’m talking about me if that wasn’t clear
All the English strings are posted in Datamining, you would have to search for Artemis in the file.
Though I think they appear in game in the lore in order. Haven’t checked.
I will also post my stories.xml file in datamined, should be in it and in order also, just with the markup used.
When the Autophage say Atlas with an accompanying audio file… I got chills and excitement all at once.
Seven years, so strange hearing it said aloud by an NPC
Okay 2 versions posted. 1 with and 1 without the new Autophage Stories, incase dont want spoilers
Ah, you beautiful being, thank you <3
Did you catch the autophages saying she is in you and I wonder if that is why they keep saying she is near…the lore is taking a very interesting turn. Also I loved the hacking incident that begins this whole quest. Especially the fact that we get choices on how to respond. I think it was one of my favorite moments.
It was so cool, feel a little closer to my ship now knowing I’ve had admin password privileges this whole time.
Just had my first pirate dreadnaught attack. I had been avoiding pirate systems, had been warping places with my freighter so I knew next warp would be a freighter rescue in a regular system, so I went straight to a pirate system in my starship.
Boy did I mess up The civillian fleets shields were down before I realised where my focus needed to be (I was picking away at turrets). Also didnt realise I should probably chase down the torpedoes…
I eventually got the Dreadnaughts shields down and did enough damage it was going to try and jump away…
It still managed to completely destroy the civillian fleet during its emergency escape countdown, and also escaped because I flew to the wrong end of it when attempting to destroy its warp engines.
I’m sorry, It’s my first day!
These dreadnaught attacks seem like they’d be a lot of fun with a group, perfect nexus mission for sure. Two can focus on defending civillian ship while other two focus on dreadnaught.
Edit:
Just tried a bunch of autophage missions out to get motes, I love how scrap happy they are, I think Poyphemus will be happy and also at home if he’s still regularly scrapping and fixing up wrecks.
Further to my previous post:
I was annoyed to find I had been forced to replay the Artemis mission.
Then I discovered that the Artemis mission had changed significantly, and I was not so annoyed.
Then I discovered that Artemis requires me to replay the whole of the “expanding your base” section - which is tedious as all hell, and annoyed me all over again.
Then I discovered that the abandoned buildings lore at the end of “expanding your base” (Artemis version) had changed beyond all recognition, and now includes all sorts of interesting clues.
I’m still annoyed, but better informed.
Well after a zillion hours of ensuring my long neglected settlement was up to spec, whilst using the down time to learn languages & do race & guild specific missions bringing up my various standings, I was unexpectedly dropped into the current era with a hijack attempt. Yay!
I’ve parked up to take a head-clearing-break as I’ve been at this forever, then I shall dive in.
I’ve avoided all spoilers (beyond knowing there is something about a new race & a staff) so this should be a heap of fun.
Incidentally, I discovered that there is tons of scripted lore & knowledge stuff to read, (accessible through the Discoveries menu). Was good to re-read all this stuff again but the empty Autophage language section was a bit teasing.
I meant to say I really loved discovering the reason why they were hacking us That really made a lot of pieces fall into place in one little sentence.
Once you start running autophage missions, beware that different camps offer different items. If you see something you want, you may want to drop a beacon so you can easily find the camp again
Wow!
What a brilliant addition this little chunk of lore is.
I love that these fellas have been living under our noses the whole time.
Lots of goodies to add to the collection.
I’ve managed to destroy 2 pirate freighters, (very cool), but both times lost the civilian fleet.
(I later realised that my combat settings were all ramped up so I’ll back them off a bit & see if I have better luck then. Explains why the sentinels have been hard work too.)
Well Done HG! Great update!
Not sure if it was introduced before Echoes but we can now find the hidden Atlantideum shards that give out Seeds from the Singularity Expedition , they also regularly have damaged Autophages next to them so looking for the invisible lattice shards is a good way to get a nice chain combo on repairing those (one of the tasks for improving standing with the faction).
I love the mission descriptors you get from them too, tells you their name and the planet they’re from and the system its in, makes it feel like they genuinely call the planet home <3
Meant to say this last night, apologies if I did and repeating myself, but you cannot find Autophages in abandoned or uninhabited/undiscovered systems.
I was secretly hoping they’d be present in uninhabited and that the robo-animals we see are just them deciding to take a more animalistic form and lifestyle.
No such luck. They aint related. But hey, they’re actively jail breaking their Living Ship cousins, so that’s a fantastic revelation <3 Not to take any shine away from the revelation they are the original Korvax who diverged after the great disconnect/destruction of Korvax Prime, and have reinvented themselves figuratively and literally, Or that the purple lattice IS Korvax Primes core, or what remains of it. Memory trapped in crystal.
Yes I have enjoyed the story / lore added to this very much. I have fought 1 freighter lost civilian fleet as couldn’t deal with torpedoes and taking out engines / lazers all a the same time…definitely feel that this is best experienced as a group effort.
I love how it feels they have been part of the world the whole time and just hidden, love it.
Staff is neat, but its just another class of weapon to me, But I like the layer of custom added to it.
Other than maybe planetary bases to attack, I feel combat has been fleshed out pretty good, I hope the next update starts going back to some of the core features and expanding, improving them
I agree. My first Pirate Freighter escaped with the civilian fleet lost. I felt sort of dumbfounded. I have never failed in a fight before.
Same here. Cant believe I lost… Next time …:waves fist:…
Thanks for the hints (and spoiler tags!), I could start the mission now as well.
I can’t remember whether I did those prerequisite missions during an expedition or in my main save, and whether things I have in my main save are expedition rewards or because I did the mission in that save… I was flying the sentinel ship and my Minotaur has all the latest bips, bops, and gismos. So I thought I must have already visited a camp in this save? Or did everyone have to visit them again?
Nope. Original quest visit is enough.
