We both used the word matinee seperately and without influencing eachother in the last three minutes in seperate threads ![]()
As soon as it started, I realized I have seen The Swarm but never all the way thru⌠Watching now while noticing a wasp has landed on the window right next to meâŚuh huhâŚ
Oh and like almost everyone in the town drives a Mustang?
Light 'em up!!!
Pfffttt⌠All they needed was Paul Weir and 65 DOS NMS soundtrack.
Just got back from Resident Evil. What an absolute treat. Adapts the game mechanics rather than its ridiculous Anime infused lore and nails it.
Theres an enemy ai pathfinding joke in the movie that made me realise this was gonna be a special one.
Just to finish off my come down from last night, and to tie it in to the Silent Running mentions here (and also to help cement the NMS/65DoS/CBL connections in my mind), this track was immense last night:
Ive always enjoyed Nathan Fielders comedy shows but after seeing The Rehearsal and The Curse Iâve been a die hard fanatic.
Very excited to see these two go head to head.
Its been a few years, I probably rewatched it last just before The Return came out.
I got a sudden urge to rewatch Twin Peaks.
Seems its on paramount plus for streaming over here. I see they have a free seven day trial.
I now have a week to binge it in its entirety. Personally Id like more time but I am excited to see what sort of fever dreams this endeavour brings my way.
I hereby pledge I will not skip over any of the pointless and annoying b story segments relating to James in Season 2. I willingly accept all fines and punishments that will occur when I inevitabley break my pledge and skip over them.
Please know in advance you are forgiven for any James-related Z-plot skips, especially the âJust Youâ song/scene which drags on so long, you become certain they are still filming it
I canât say that it ever became bad, just that it became less good for a while that I sorta fell off of itâŚ
So I have come to inform you that South Park has become More Good again. Dropped into the newest season and it feels like theyâre back on form.
Oh yeah the show is also called South America now
(no narrative reason, just them poking fun at Trump renaming the Gulf of Mexico etc)
Yes I read that last month, it made me laugh a long time, the reason they gave was
Inspired by the bravery and patriotism of Apple and Google, we are changing the name of South Park to SOUTH AMERICA.
Everybody have a warm coat for this winter ![]()
May see this one tomorrow
I donât know who this weird guy is lol, but I applauded Laika CEO Travis Knight
Travis Knight, worlds greatest nepo baby. Something for them all to aspire to.
âHey daddy, can I use your vast wealth to keep a dying art form alive in an industry that rejects its lengthy production and costs? Thanks daddyyyyyyy!â
Then actually delivers on it with immense passion, just for the love of the game.
Pour one out for our old DVR box, victim of a Spectrum âupgradeâ requiring a new one-- this isnât the first time, so I know better than to think Iâm âkeepingâ anything stored in one of those things, but itâs hard not to feel a loss when hours upon hours of collected media vanishes suddenly. Treasured, hilarious episodes of Most Expensivest and Bong Appetit Cook Off, gone. All those Bruce Lee movies! Monster Dog starring Alice Cooper! The Errol Morris documentary of The Brief History of Time! Surely TCM will show âOne Froggy Eveningâ again soon ⌠cries into tiki mug
Yes. I had to finally get the hopper duo. It does not hold nearly as much as the old box. And it changes my channels. Sometimes while I am watching a show. ![]()
It also is constantly getting slowly out of syncâŚ
Wildwood viewing about to begin
(A little over 2 hours later)
OhâŚmyâŚgood griefâŚholy cowâŚwhat did I just see?
90% of the movie you completely forget this is stop -motion.
The birds. The birds. Oh my, the birds.
Unbelievable. Truly unbelievable.
I still cannot wrap my mind around the sheer mountain of work that must have gone into the making of this masterfully animated film.
The story itselfâŚmehâŚa bit weak. It takes a certain something to make a fantasy story feel real. This story doesnât quite make it there.
The depiction of downtown Portland and the real world side was really awesome.
If the story has stuck to a real world scenario it would likely have scored higher in my opinion.
Fantasy is a tough sell.
