Here’s a random thought I just had; what if the mission as it stands now is just a placeholder, because they knew we’d datamine it or get to things early before they could push out whatever new update holds everything.
I wouldn’t be surprised if that was the case, something for us to chew over while they work on the last touches and then surprise, you unlocked the egg, here’s the full mission ARG thing or whatever it ends up being

I actually just had another thought.
Seans tweets, a whole egg, a raw egg, a cooking egg.
Unfinished but exists, ready to be made, but not finished, and finally, being finished, being cooked up for us to enjoy.
Maybe, just maybe, it’s meant to directly signify, that whatever is coming related to the egg, is coming this week. Either Monday or Wednesday, is my bet.
but maybe I’m just finally going mad from the wait for this next update. I already posted a Big Brain Theory™ about the next update already elsewhere, I think I’m too far gone

I’ve given some thought to the egg tweets.
The 1st was an uncooked raw egg.
The 2nd was Gordon complaining about the egg being undercooked.
The third was an egg in a frying pan.
Could it be that Sean is alluding to that fact that its not all there yet and incomplete?

HERE’S MY OVERALL TAKE ON IT, THUS FAR:
An Update, Pets & Aliens ?
It would appear that the name ‘The Melody of the Egg’ posses a multi-meaning…
This melody, or message, has been broadcasting to us like an intermittent signal on repeat, singing to us as a signal does, and a raw egg 
can represent (as already stated) ‘something yet to come’, with a frying egg 
meaning ‘they’re cooking something up’ and a partially uncooked egg meaning it needs more time.
Hello Games have come to favor speaking indirectly through updates and their content itself.
And I believe when translated (so to speak) that ‘The Melody of the Egg’ means ‘The Announcement of a Coming Update’ (and I’ll be so bold as to say) presenting Pets, Zoos, Breeding and Livestock (involving the use of the Void Egg as ‘temporary creature containment’ and Mystery Egg as a ‘procedural surprise’), as well as infinite Traveller alien variety (as hinted at through the recent Abandon Building ‘Egg-Lore’)!
And this would be very fitting as BEYOND v2.0 introduced…
- Creature Riding (or Mounts), with the ability to feed or tame, and milk or harvest.
- An expanded Space Anomaly, featuring 12 new Traveller alien varieties, enabling expanded character-customization. Of which I have long believed was an Easter Egg in unto itself, including the use of the phrase, ‘ITERATION: TRAVELLER.’
‘Iterations’ here meaning unique varieties of 
Travellers. — And pets? 
Here’s hoping for flying, aquatic, 
and fishing. 
Now — If only we had a few more clues, to know everything for sure.

It’s obviously supposed to look like a page of pencil drawings from an old biology paper or book, but does anybody know if it actually might be one? Or if the depicted things exist? Or if the whole thing is actual concept art from HG?

What looks like the heart, brain and spine are marked with the same glyphs and what seems to be numbering - 1,2,3

To be honest I think the bottom right looks like a Gek brain as it seems to imitate the shape of a Gek’s head.it could also be a digestive system .The image above it looks like vertebrae again going with the theme of a central nervous system .
The top left looks o be some kind of heart with the branching arteries.
This teaser is very reminiscent of the picture of the frigate we got during the Next teasers.
