Nowadays all these test flights are streamed live, even the uncrewed explosions and scrubbed launches. And you get interviews with crew and staff.
How was that in the 60s and 70s? Was it more like “breakfast surprise! people in orbit”?

It was first off, closely linked to the military and top secret. Had to beat the Ruskies. Then it became a push from the top. Get to the moon in this decade. There was general news coverage and in depth coverage but it was all so new, I’m not sure they knew what questions to ask.
People generally understood, they could all die. But it was seen as a necessary risk

Ive noticed this becoming a trend on websites, particularly tech/science/nature websites.
Who is this for? What is the point of it? Im already reading the article to learn. I dont need to be told beforehand what I’m going to learn. Part of reading and learning is the joy of discovery from sentence to sentence. This just kills any of that I feel.

I get that, but im seeing this on things that arent academic papers. I think I also saw it on some videogame articles. Even going so far as to say “in this article you will find links to users on X commenting on the etc etc etc”
As for Sienna Rose, coincidentally i got reccomended a youtube video yesterday by a guy with 800 subs and 60 views on the vid, talking about how he was excited to find all this new jazz music on spotify youtube, only to realise something didnt feel right and then noticed it was ALL ai.

The closer we get to this the more anxious I get that this is the first step towards T threatening to place tariffs on anyone that doesn’t agree with him owning the moon and building nuclear powered casinos and laser defence systems on its surface '^ _ ^
