Yes, for the portal you’re leaving from. But the pillar at your destination portal sinks into the ground as you arrive and doesn’t re-emerge so you can’t request its address.

The glyph address of the portal you travel to is the address you enter. Unless your random address doesn’t exist, in which case you could build a signal booster on the other side. The pilgrim star path now has a converter to change the 16 digit address (is there a proper name for these?) into a glyph address.
