Games and Game-Related old and new

Ahhh…my playstyle avoids the main path for as long as possible. I run every side mission and decorate my homes and research new items and horde and organize and try to rank up so I can finally fly that 5 crew ship with 2,000+ storage. However, I got wrapped up in the Terrormorph mission and saw it to completion. I forget where I was when I triggered it or why I was there but the terrormorphs scared the bejesus out of me so I had to get it done. The rewards were nice. I have a penthouse to decorate. And that is kinda where I am now. All the time. Collecting every book in the game as I run small side quests. And trying to scan each planet 100%

Stay away from Aurora.

2.5% revenue share seems entirely reasonable, but I don’t think the company can be trusted anymore with the current CEO. Next thing you know, they’ll have the brilliant idea of shoving adds into your game…

I’m no lawyer, but their attempt to retroactively apply the new fees to already-released games immediately struck me as a breach of contract situation. I suspect some legal entity put a little fear of law into them, and so they’re trying to spin a retreat from a likely catastrophic legal situation as something positive.

They’re still sticking with the option of install-fees for future releases though, so they clearly don’t give a damn about the public outcry over the idea. They must think they can weather that storm. I doubt it. As you said, they can’t be trusted anymore.

I didn’t keep the link, but a local game developer immediately put out a “we are hiring” ad for Ex-Unity developers. :smirk: (They’ve created their own, specialised framework.)

This was shared with me and looks neat.

That looks like just what I will need after Starfield.
I can’t believe I finally finished this mission. It was one of the longest and most demanding missions I have ever played in a game. It was very challenging to complete it in the way I wanted. There was a lot of sneaking. A lot of turning enemies on each other and a lot of persuasion and I still did not gather enough evidence to bring in enough help for the final battle. That meant I had to die many times before I finally cranked the difficulty level down a notch :face_exhaling:. And even after all of that, the Crimson Fleet’s #2 escaped and will, no doubt, hunt me down… :grimacing:
But for now, I am headed to Paradiso to lounge on the beach.

This guy trained an AI to play the original Pokemon game. The endless iterations all learning at once is a funny sight to see, and fascinating that the AI seems to make some of the same decisions and mistakes that new players do

Do not build anything in the homes in New Atlantis you buy in Starfield until you complete the main story line, A High Price to Pay. Everything placed in the homes will vanish. Outposts seem to be unaffected. My homes on other planets seem to be okay though I am still checking them out.
Edit: I am seeing others have everything vanish at outposts and not the purchased homes.
This is a horrendous bug considering how much work it takes to make things stay in place. :unamused:
My suggestion, throw everything into the bottomless chest in the basement of the Lodge until you complete this quest.
Spoiler but important to know:

And know, this quest will see one of your highest affinity companions die. If you listen carefully to the conversation in the quest leading up to this, you will know who is where and can decide which to go save. Either one in the Lodge or one in the Eye can be saved, the other will die. The choice will be between your 2 highest affinity companions.

I said in a previous post that there’s a point in the game where things change, and that I had gone back to an earlier save to avoid this for now.

High Price To Pay is the event I’ve been avoiding. Since going back to the earlier save, Barrett has been my only companion. I take a kind of masochistic pleasure in the constant irritation he causes me, because the game now thinks he’s my favourite - and I know what’s coming to him.

So I had to do that mission where you stay on the planet or go up to The Eye to help.

I looked online for a spoiler free hint as to waht the consequences would be.

The post said “go to eye, Barrett dies, stay on planet, sarah morgan dies.”

I just finished Baretts personal story, so I didn’t want him to die, and I was currently having a blast going around with Sam and his daughter and enjoying the build up to his personal story, trying to find a safe place for his daughter etc.

Sarah, hadn’t even spent any time with except that bit at the start, so I was happy to stay on planet and assist Barrett and co.

Absolutely gutted and destroyed to learn its SAM that dies… I took a break from the game for a while after that. Total troll post giving false advice it would seem.

Just got out of a stint in the hospital with a collapsed lung so looking forward to getting back to space

Steam Next Fest was fun, had a lot of fun gliding and buuilding in Enshrouded and Europa has a nice aesthetic with some sci fi terraforming tales to share.

capsule_616x353

I think the only thing that bugs me in Europa is, the backgrounds are very reminiscent of Hayao Miyazaki but the characters faces are very, Dreamworks, if you get what I mean. Do not like it, please fix '^ _^

:grimacing: hope you are breathing better :open_mouth: :revolving_hearts:
Yeah I too looked for spoiler free and it stated your 2 highest affinity companions and they had different people involved.
I got married so I knew where my priority lay.

could not leave Cora with no dad since I am headed towards something unknown and her mother is wrapped up in her career

Much better thanks, had covid, then on the 4th day I decided to get out of bed and look at world news… I dont normally chain smoke but that absolutely sent me there with some anxiety attacks to boot, which seemed to be the perfect storm for a lung collapse

The good news is it meant it got me a full CT scan on my lungs and there seems to be no sign of any underlying issues which means, I should prob quit smoking while I’m ahead  Signed up for a program in the hospital thats gonna help with that.

I feel bad now for not being able to remember
Coras name, guess I just blocked it out from the trauma XD

Ah so its affinity based, guess I was heading for heartbreak either way but jesus, I think Sams death might actually be the coldest and cruelest variant considering he has a child dependant on his survival right there and I’m pretty sure things had yet to be patched up with her grandfather or mother by the time things went down.

I also have Barrett wearing his clothes as some nightmare attempt to act like nothing happened. Everyone on my ship is keeping their distance while I tell cora her dads always been a black man.

Still a better use of emojis than “Wet Leg”, who I hear are a good up and coming band that has people excited… but the name puts me off XD :sweat_drops: :leg:

I will give the smokes the boot, or try my damndest! Thanks Sheral

Sarah does have some nice threads, totally understandable killing her for the clothes on her back
