Iâll just casually drop this here lol : P
Arrresome! hehehe ![]()
The NMS Discord (RedHotTrouble#3707 specifically) thanks you for creating that short!
Thatâs funny. ![]()
Out of all the things Iâve done in this game, I couldnâtâve imagined that Iâd get known for THAT ![]()
In the original No Manâs Sky, groups of pirates would patrol systems, and would regularly fly down and attack trading posts. Some people thought it was a bug, but I spent a lot of time documenting the behaviour, and I assure you it wasnât. Once you knew what you were looking for, it was entirely predictable.
Unfortunately, the mechanic was either removed or disabled with Next, so it doesnât happen any more. But we know HG wanted to to it, and we know they could. It would take them very little effort to bring it back, perhaps in a modified form - pirate attacks on settlements?
hmmm, I donât recall that ever happening. Would be neat. But kinda pointless unless walls can take damage etc. Good purpose for turrets though
I witnessed a few of these attacks as well. Found the pics I took from one attack that I came across while searching for emeril. The pirates ignored me until I fired on them.
cool. I remember them flying around, but I donât recall them firing on a trading station, but thatâs cool if it happened to others.
I honestly love the idea of little events like this happening in world regardless of whether the player triggers them or not. It just makes the whole universe feel a lot more alive and independent than feeling like it revolves around you.
Imagine multi-system wide conflict between factions or pirates and authorities, where you can come back after a few hours and a huge freighter-to-freighter battle is still going on, or just going down to a planetâs surface and seeing pirates fly down and assaulting buildings etc.

Space Station Core Override (Speculations):
- Added the ability to claim entire star systems
Space station overrides can now be purchased or earned, but at great cost or challenge to the user. Claiming a system brings numerous systemwide rewards and benefits. Ability to upgrade system economy and conflict levels. Ability to redesign Space Station interiors and exteriors. Ability to rename and reupload systemwide changes to HGâs servers. Ability to teriform entire planets, (but in a later update). Note: Overrides are nonreusable and nonrefundable. Only a limited number of systems can be claimed per user account, so choose your systems wisely. Visit space station cores to apply these upgrades. Visit the space anomaly to learn more.
Reason: Home Systems and/or Community Hubs
RELEASE DATE: SUMMER 2022 ![]()
Pretty interesting idea honestly, but I feel like the overrides wonât be usable on every station. Thereâs currently a seperate string for station cores in abandoned systems (which as of yet donât exist), which kinda makes me think that weâd be able to rebuild systems, override the previous owner settings and make the system habitable again. This would prevent a lot of hubs having their systems claimed by trolls etc, because HG seriously doesnât want that happening. Major factor in that is a few very egoistic civ leaders biting HGâs ass anytime theyâre inconvenienced.
I wonder of the multi-sword will make an appearance this year.
Iâm still waiting for my Odvinsko hyperdrive.
Sean has posted the flag again! This time in a reply to the original post.
I assume you mean an Odvinsko hypderdrive?
I kinda expected this to come on thursday, to be honest, but with all the jolly roger reposting it might actually go down todayâŚ
