Future Update Speculation

TBH, that’s pretty much OK with me. If you’re going to eat meat, be honest about what you’re doing. I have killed and eaten fish, and I’ve killed and eaten rabbits - very enjoyable. I’ve never killed a cow - but then I don’t have any cows.

fish. yes. fish. catch 'em. clean 'em. cook 'em. I have done it all. I love fish. In a tank, in the water and on my plate.

In my head, I simplify the Atlas down to Asimov’s “The Last Question” you surely know it.
(Future humanity’s best computer is trying to calculate how to prevent the heat death of the universe, unsuccessfully, too many variables. In the end, humanity as well as the computer have already “transcended into hyperspace” and the stars are flickering out as a dark state is created where no new information is added, and in that moment, the calculation finally complete and a new big bang happens.)

I can tell you anecdotes until your ears fall off, but I have never been good with understanding or retelling complex stories (I’d be a “school of Dungeons and Dragons dropout” if that existed), I thought it was just me, so, NMS lore is incoherent to many? :smirk:

SM is tweeting about Prawn Curry.

He hasn’t given us much to go on lately. Will take what I can get

It’s nice for Sean to reminisce.

Number one on my personal “this cannot last” list:

Ingredients go into the nutrient processor two or three at a time and make a geometrically expanded number of things. I mean, sure, you can get the same omelette using a tall egg as you get with a creature egg, but still. I see no way that SM looks at 168 kinds of fish that…all make the exact same ‘fish and rice’ and says, “yeah, that’s our style.” I’m expecting an exponential explosion in seafood cuisine.

They plan to spice up ocean life I guess.

Well, this made me feel quite a bit older haha… Its been so long since older creators like MZK and CobraTV left the NMS scene, but I still remember their post-release coverage on the game too.

Wonder if he’s looking back at the older NMS community, or that nothing burger of a tweet though

It looks like Steam’s implementing a few changes to their Password Protected Branches as they announced back in 2024, where private branches can’t be seen by APIs. It looks like the days of checking SteamDB for internal updates have come to an end…

What is happening? :grimacing:

Well the good news is I’ll no longer be whipped into an excited fervour any time there’s an internal update only to spend a week pressing refresh for a switch patch :3rd_place_medal:
Speaking of, I look forward to Hello Games announcing no mans sky for yet another platform with the Switch 2 :joy:

This is good news as I imagine the switch 2 version will have settlements and MP.

Bad news if you don’t have spare handheld money of course. I’ve been saving for a switch so long now a new one has arrived before I got one :joy:

Be funny if no mans sky comes to switch 2 with MP and they announce LNF can run on switch 2 but only in single player mode

So Sean tweets a ringed planet.

Confirmed… . We’re getting ringworms?! That’s really irritating!

Hmm. Would that be a world, perhaps?

Might his next post show two? As in Worlds 2?

Might be Uranus.

Confirmed, we can adjust the size of our butts now.

Edit: sorry haha

My guess is its related to those new planets we’ve been hearing about.

If so, exciting times ahead.
