Wait… my second and third rendevouz planet were in the same system… ?
I have noticed, on the galaxy map, that the path during these expeditions is very strange. While I would think I am travelling in a fairly directional course, trying to re-trace my path on the galaxy map is near impossible.
That pic may come in really handy for Me and Mal, Thanks!
We’ve been refugees from the frozen wastes called “home”. After a huge storm our electricity was out from Monday at 7pm to Today at noon (about 65 hours)
Once the internal temp of our house reached 50 degrees and still dropping on the second day we ran to the nearest hotel and threw ourselves on their mercy. Expensive, but better than freezing t’ death. The hotel was not a great experience. Most mediochre, but I am grateful that we could manage to find a place where we could get warm. And now we are fixing the problems that leaving the house suddenly has caused. Over 65,000 people were without power for all that time. We are lucky we had some savings to exchange for the hotel room. I’m sure that is not the case for everyone in that situation.
Last but not least, my APC UPS unit software put my Computer into hibernation, while my character was standing in my freighter having just saved. When I turned my computer on a few minutes ago there was my character still standing where I left them. Nothing had been lost. (I restarted the game anyway.)
Looking forward to getting back to the Expedition.
My house sits at 60 degrees because the natural gas price is soaring. I feel your chill. I do have a fireplace though. So glad you found a warm place and your game is safe.
Like Finding a beetle in a planet-stack…
Can beetles only be found Lush type planets ie not bountiful, not paradise, not overgrown etc
I do not remember but I know they are not everywhere. I believe you are correct
I was expecting to be more into this expedition, but alas got distracted by work – now I have time.
First pet egg? Holy moly it’s ugly. 80% of its bodyweight is an underbite and horn! Mouth clips into the ground, legs are hilariously crooked, it’s super slow and bulky. Then I see “90% trust”… Hm. Okay, know what? You can stay. Fastest egg ever.
I’ll report back later what the offspring looks like. I have high hopes of beauty and elegance!
Also I’m still getting all the same bugs as years ago (on my 6 y-o PC). The only bug that has not reoccured yet was the little laser beam that kept following us around.
I had pop-in-around-me surprise-bases. Double parked NPC ships at stations and disappearing NPC ships while I interacted with them. Once I could not even get into the station, I just drifted in the blue light. At the archive, I could not move after closing the last dialog (I only got out by accident because I had a shortcut defined for “1st/3rd person view”, and that broke the spell). Also around animals, I can’t click anything else, the interaction feeds a random animal when I try to pick up Faecium (I have to wait for the animals to leave and hope it doesn’t despawn, not the funnest mission). And some glitches I already forgot. Many are harmless like the nonexistent hyperspace “gift”:
At the same time, Expeditions has improved in the sense that it’s playable. Should I just restart the game every hour or so, do these bugs accumulate over time? It feels like it but it could also be normal multiplayer lag,
Others said here they cannot find settlements for the new overseer gameplay? (I don’t recall who) - Practically every planet shows me 1-5 settlements even though I never searched for them.
And up to now I had no problems with weapons (I think it was polyphemus who had that issue?) The rocket launcher in my ship and the javelin in my (bought) S-class multitool 2-shot everything and are not even fully upgraded. I wonder how that will be back in my “Laylaps” save (I am right before the battles).
That’s not a horn, that’s a bloody sail!
Reporting back: Offspring is smaller (as intended), nicer pattern, same underbite, no sailhorn, slightly more interesting knees, no feet, and much faster.
1st generation offspring. I’m not sure how she fits in my ship, but she clearly does, because when I go to a new planet, she comes with me.
I have a base on a infested radioactive planet with those flying beetles.
Thanks, yeah trying to focus on radioactive planets, and then checking a few others also
I obviously missed a trick earlier in the expedition where a beetle planet was conveniently located
Day 4 of my search and must be close to 100 planets looked at…
The pictures I posted show beetles on the planet Iamis II in the Romasjon system.
The Romasjon system is quite close to the Itrunn VII system. You can see both in my picture of the galaxy map.
Itrunn VII was the first rendezvous system. If you have achieved the first rendezvous, Itrunn VII will be an available destination at any space station teleporter.
So you can teleport to Itrunn VII, blast into space, and look around on the galaxy map. Romasjon is one of the nearby systems. And it has beetles.
That was the idea of posting all those pictures - so people can find the place, and not end up fruitlessly searching hundreds of planets.
Aah thank you so much, i knew you were helping i had just given up on back tracking
Thanks will rather use, and try not to lose my head next time
My fault. When I posted the pictures, I should have explained what I intended them to be used for.
Sometimes I’m guilty of expecting people to be mind readers.
Interdimensional quantum storage. It does the trick every time. How else does your small ship store all those resources?
C’mon people. Think!
Just another thank you, teleported , warped and booked my beetle…
Now to bake the cake
