Well if I ger near there I will hit you up and see how I can help and make sure to take care when getting near so I don’t mess anything up I’m on a new save at the moment so I don’t have but a few glyphs at the moment just got a freighter and an s class
Ok. Just so I am clear, this is my planet to claim and keep or do I need to move on?
I did indeed shut down the capital poll. There were several request to look for more potentials, so we decided to give it more time. I agree with @tajay, I don’t know why we haven’t seen any new potentials, given so many wanted more time. @Polyphemus brings up a point I was worried about: By the time we get around to voting again (after the ARG?), there could be no good candidates left. This makes the no/unofficial capital prospect look a bit better. Also, we could take the conversation to the locate a capital thread.
It is good to see more PC players here. We haven’t discussed things PC side because there seem to be so few of them. The PC Hub is under no obligation to be the same as the PS4 Hub, and I encourage you to discuss it. The lack of players means there are far more potential candidates.
It’s not in the immediate chain. It’s previously unclaimed. As far as I’m concerned, it’s yours if you want it - but you’re free to move on, of course. I won’t take offence.
Over the past few months, I’ve been the only PC player who’s really taken an interest in the hub - so I’m pretty much playing by ear, though I try to take my steer from what the PS4 people are doing. For the sake of continuity, if nothing else.
If more PC players come, we’ll have to be a bit more organised.
Roger, roger! Since I do not have a freighter, I may ditch my ship, jump, then find a fixer upper. My portal still does not work so I have to find a working one. Is there more than 1 portal to a system or do I need to jump to a fresh system? Also, have to be gone a couple of hours. Will get back to work as soon as I am home. Thanks for all your hard work!
There should be one portal per planet - but some of them are hard to find (not all planets have monoliths).
If one portal in your system is not working properly, it makes the others suspect. I think I would move to a new system before trying.
There is a trick to moving your base via portal. And you must have a base, on a planet, to do it. You also need to have enabled the teleporter in your base.
Once you have done this, travel through the portal, and find a new base (I’ve marked one for you). Enter the base, and claim it. This will destroy your old base.
Now travel back through the portal, go to the space station, and teleport to your base. It will now send you (and your ship) to the new base - the one you travelled to through the portal.
That’s it. You’ve just transported yourself, your base, and your ship, half way across the galaxy.
Suggest the following approach to find portals:
- arrive to a system and build signal scanner to get coordinates.
- input coordinates to get glyphs here PILGRIM STAR PATH
- return to home planet and portal to destination system to each planet
- mark portals from other side with beacons and comm stations as needed
- profit! no need to find monoliths and relics to get portals’ positions.
well, I am having issues. I moved to a planet with a working portal ( I thought) and this is what I get
I end up on a toxic planet in Buldallanger
Whoah. What galaxy are you in?
[edit] should say were you in?
You started in Euclid?
Well, I wondered about that. I played thru the whole story line and it threw me to Buldallanger. Am I stuck?
Or could I just start a fresh save?
Trouble is, the ETARC hub only exists in Euclid. I assumed you knew. Dangerous things, assumptions.
If you have a save from before you changed galaxies, then yes, you could. Otherwise your only option is to start a new game - but if you do, it’s going to take a while before you can use portal travel.
Yeah…bummer. I think I knew this but forgot…dangerous thing, memory .
Well, if someone else wants to take that planet… So, basically there is no portal travel between galaxies?
Did you start in Euclid today or did you finish the quest a while ago?
Only one way travel.
Oh no. I have been traversing the universe for quite some time.
No, you can’t portal between galaxies. Sorry.
Oh well. At least I finally packed up and moved. My home planet was resource deprived. Happy hubbing!
You could make a new save, like you said. I did, My 1st day save is in Calypso and I just started a new one a few weeks back. Luckily, my starting position was close to pilgrim star, but I am on my way to ETARC. I am also there in creative mode.
If you really wanted to, you could start another normal mode game, whilst still keeping your old game. The save system will allow you to have several (up to six, off the top of my head). I currently have three different games on the go at the same time, and I swap between them as the feeling tales me.
