ECSD Starchain

In, If I can help

Know that as the True High King of the Star Chain, self proclaimed since birth, I will have to go to war with all of you for treason.

But also… can I be in your guys group

Pretending I’m important got boring immediately.

Yes, we could. It’s probably what we should have done with the first chain.

However, it would still have been destroyed by the universe reset - and Atlas Rises would still have removed most of the reasons we tried to create it in the first place.

If people want to create a private ETARC hangout in some out-of-the-way galaxy, I’m prepared to join in - but it would probably be quite a lonely existence out there. Remember, the whole point of moving to the star chain was so we could meet each other - at least, so far as the game would allow.

So if anyone finds a suitable spot, set up a DM with whomever you feel you want to join and we can get moving on it.
I’m in.
Meanwhile, back at my old stomping grounds in the Ugly Planets system. :expressionless: I popped up a field camp. This planet was just a desert planet when I was here before. Now it is scorching.

Because I’ve lost my mind after making a fishing map, I’ve been working my way down the chain again making record of all player built bases.

I actually just passed through there and made note of this base

I left a juicy bug head smoking over the fire for you. It’s great sliced thin and served with red onion on a corn tortilla.

I shall make this my personal quest once I’m able to get in some proper hours on NMS.

Getting Deja Vu here '^_ ^

I’m half-way down the chain with checking for player bases for the “State of the Union” address.

I got as far as Edison last night

I had never visited the ruined version of the Hamster Wheel before it was rebuilt on a new site, it looks like @Star-Lord went back and re-did the decor so everything looks knocked over and searched through, abandoned <3

Here’s my list so far (should be viewable to all with link)

For anyone who’s Steam/PSN etc showed up on base, I do a quick search on forum to see if they have a username here or have mentioned their steam/psn/etc here, so I can use their Forum name in the list.

For those who I could not identify I’ll use their Steam/Psn/Xbox name in the list but if you happen to know who it is or if they have a presence on the forum DM me (so we don’t give out anyones details unwarranted). So far this has only happened with two names but I think they might have come in through the CSFD as their bases/systems are around or in Othrys.

The hamster wheel was one of the things that destroyed our headquarters. It was built on a moon in the same system - and, therefore, overwrote the headquarters base. I tried to explain several times to the guy who built it that he was damaging our infrastructure, but he wouldn’t remove it.

Funny story. I visited with him at the time and we were attacked by sentinel walkers. I blew the place up with a barrage of plasma rounds. He told me the place was wrecked after that battle and he was going to start new someplace else.
EDIT
Scratch all of that, it was @johnnycloud 's mr noodles hamster wheel that I blew up.

I feel like I was absent for a lot of this but I can’t recall why. I was either away somewhere or had just started a course that reduced my playtime to zero for almost a year. Sounded stressful

I think Polyphemus will be happy with this outcome XD

I’ve just finished my survey of Edison and hands down, for vibes that still work with the Infested makeover, I am in Love with The Treehouse built by @escapade . The infested growths have blocked the entrance to the biodome and it all feels very natural, and you can still reach in and harvest all. The tree house is safe from the infestation and teleports below to a nice little walkway to some water, perfect now for fishing

I’m on my way to the Hamster Wheel now to see how it looks. Last year it was fully intact when I was visiting, from what you’ve shared and the thumbnails I can see in the TP list, it looks like a Worm ate half of it. Or a Sherlmyst launched another “barrage of plasma rounds”.

Like a moron I haven’t been taking any photos of my trip through the bases so I have nothing to share for now, just reports from the ground.

Here is a link to The Treehouse build, from that brief period when Edison became a paradise again

The remains of the headquarters base are still there. At least, the comm balls that all the visitors left were - but they’re in space. The universe reset shrunk the planet, but the base kept its original XYZ co-ordinates, so it ended up a mile above the planet.

Some of this is kinda funny, in a somewhat painful way.

BTW, for privacy reasons I don’t associate my Steam and Atlas CSD accounts. I have a different user name for most social media type sites. I do read the CSD posts daily.

Happy to help keep the anonymity, whichever name you use for nms will end up on the base list as I record them, we won’t know it’s you so I hope you don’t mind, but if that feels bothersome to folk I’m happy to scrub any names from the list.

Just send a private message if I cross any lines and I’ll carry the username to my grave (Though I will tell the first traveller who interacts with my grave , right after I give them a glyph. Thems the rules)

I realised I’m going to have to add Settlements to the list. I forgot they’re a thing.

Came across a settlement by @johnnycloud and wow, Mush Eyesilly, built right next to a crashed freighter on Bodman Prime, came to share

Some of the old comms forever trapped by the Galactic Shift. Now burried below bedrock or floating in the sky

I decided to go to Etarcia on my PC save to see how the mouse wheel looks on that end since it looks very intact on PS5.

Arriving to the system on PC I realised there was 1 base that was completely absent from PS5 (not all bases showed up in UI guidance but they do in TP list on console).

It may or may not be connected to the difficulty/platform merger but the base is Atlas 65-Etarc Shrine by Sheralmyst ;0; I’m going to join my PC session from PS5 and see what happens then if I go there :mag:

edit:

Joining my PC-self on PS5 and going to the location of the Portal Shrine caused it to appear and it now also populates my discovery tab list (shows there are 6 bases on edison instead of 5 etc).

Has me paranoid of what else isn’t showing up though '^ _ ^

Oh also mouswheel looks good on PC for me. Just looks odd in its thumbnail.

I also noticed again, the info for the system in my discovery tab was showing the old names, doing a system scan with freighter updated them in the discovery pane to show some can now be renamed.

I’ve finished the chain so I’ve started exploring the regions around it for player bases, I’ve also been searching the forums for leads and clues.

I remembered @jeepsters265 had a portal address website with an Etarc specific section, I found the old link but it was dead.

Looks like they’re still running the site at a new domain and it even still has an Etarc category

I’ve recorded 46 bases in the spreadsheet now

I have some of my old videos when we (The Spacing Guild) were hired to explore the hub. I think LordMarkov may have a few as well?

The videos start with “ No Man’s Sky 1.3 - TSG Chronicles” with the system name and ECSD.

Just enter ECSD in the search box.

Is Elysium 9 still there? I just used the address from the signal booster in the video and converted it to Glyph Address so I’m about to find out I guess

Thanks for exploring and archiving these videos, they’re a nice snapshot of a game that has come so far <3 I feel very Nostalgic typing down signal booster MAC addresses

No Elysium 9 is no longer there as the entire planet is gone. XD. The game will soft crash and you be stuck in the warp screen.
