I just pictured Sean murray as the sun baby that watches all the teletubbies like a mad giggling child and I can’t unsee it. It’s times like these I’m sad my pc is dead and I no longer have access to photoshop
I’ve been having very, very, similar thoughts.
@DarkbyDesign’s idea was inspired.
I now have the Teletubbies & Night Garden themes & tunes plaguing me.
Keep thinking of the NMS intro with the Teletubbies soundtrack…

Yeah, might see an inspiration there.
On the topic itself: I am sure that HelloGames will look into it that everyone can play just the way they want. And if there are people that want to play with friends but safe from griefing and PvP, there sure as hell will be some organizations and groups that will ensure the safety of those travellers (Shoutout to the “Spa & Cruise” faction in Freelancer).
Players will make sure of it. I have no doubt about that.
In your current save game, you fire up the PvP from a new terminal.
Goes back to the ARG, a simulation within a simulation and the endless mirror photos.
