Corvette Expedition 19

Happened to me last night too, I had only been looking at it a moment prior too. I happened to be needing to go north as well to find the last creature.

So I convinced myself the reason I needed to find this creature in the first place was because it stole the N from my compass.

Depends on where you go. The pressure hull is a slab of metal with cold water on the other side, so it tends to sweat like a glass of iced tea. That means all the insulation gets wet and tends to mold. But if you go far enough all that condensation freezes and kills the mold.

Now this is just plain evil. Hello games, knowing I would want to play the expedition with a normal ship, disabled purchases, and removed the crashed ships.

However, they includedd a mission to a harmonic camp - and a sentinel ship is hard-coded into that routine. So I did the camp mission, claimed the multitool - and then I went looking for the ship.

Nasty, rotten, underhanded Hello Games allowed me to go through the whole ship salavge routine - only, right at the very end, where I claim the ship, they showed me this:

Sounds joyous. Mould or frozen mould.

Damn fine print, who the hell has time to read mission log descriptors when theres expedition goals to be defied!?

Since when has repairing an abandoned wreck been ā€œtradingā€?

Now that’s one damned ugly ship.

It is a small fraternity that knows from experience just how much better frozen mold is.

Another experimental patch rolling in

I have completed all I can. Tried to get a guy to give me a ride for the extra milestone. He looked at me, backed down the stairs and deleted them. Trapping me in his ship…. ….. …. Thanks A…….

Where did you say your base is @toddumptious

Behold! The Ragman’s Treasure

Was feeling kinda happy about its quirkiness, then this thing pulled in behind me

I just had an amusing bug: I was in a space station wondering whether I could get the passenger milestone or give it to someone. Some ships seemed double parked and others invisible.

As I was standing around in my corvette, someone appeared and ran to the (my?) cockpit and lifted off! It looked like two ships passing through each other. But it made me automatically the passenger. I got about 50% of the milestone, when the pilot jumped into a new system.

During the hyper jump, I couldn’t see any ship, just the colour effects.

After arrival, I was in my corvette’s cockpit in the new system … Happy End!

Yes. This keeps happening to me. I think it is best to do this milestone from a planet

Well, I am out of the game to reset after my corvette ā€œdockedā€ by passing all the way through the space station and out the other side…at which point it would not respond to anything.

But making descent progress. I was landing at the station to share my vast chromatic metal bounty with people who needed to fix their hyperdrives. Altruism doesn’t pay.

I have yet to see a single player willing to give me a ride. I asked one player if he was willing to help me. He turned, ran down the stairs and deleted them, leaving me trapped inside. He then set to modifying his ship. I turned off network and was free

Others turn off network when I ask. Poof! I am left alone…

Having spent some time clambering aboard as a stow away, I got the milestone.

What ended up ultimately happening was, I stood in traveller-465’s ship with who I thought was the pilot but later turned out to be traveller-605 (are these switch usernames? Seeing a number of these).

When we both exited and realised neither of us owned the ship we were waiting for the other to take off, they beckoned and ran to the next ship over which was their actual ship.

They took me for a spin in theirs then sailed back to the Anomaly.

They followed me to my ship and I intended to return the favour but an incoming ship collided with them (or something), I saw them get flung off screen. Then suddenly they were trapped in my ships walls. This is the second time this happened today.

What was unique about this one was they briefly appeared as a stretched out two dimensional texture across the exit ramp briefly, like a weird ghost.

I could not return the favour :frowning:

I was streaming at the time, I’ll return with a timestamp link because it was some silly corvette hiccup weirdness.

(here is a timestamped link of the trapped traveller that helped me get the milestone. May their sacrifice be remembered)

@sheralmyst the base is at the second RV system.

Hitching rides at the anomaly might be less frowned upon and easier to pull off as more than four will land (it just makes additional ships invisible when sharing a landing pad) and people in space stations might be editing their ship, while at the anomaly there’s no risk of getting in someone’s way like that.

As @AdaRynin pointed out it’s an easy distance to fill with the speed ships go at, I got kicked off immediately on most attempts. The ones where I made it to the exit and a shipless warp screen, about 2500 of the 10,000 would be filled shortly after exiting the anomaly before the pilot stops or a bug jettisoned me.

Around 2-3 attempts and the final ride with the unlucky pancake man got me to 10,000 eventually.

If the numbers of people waiting to get this grow around here it might not be a bad idea to organise an Atlas CSD work Carpool.

Anomaly is definitely the best place for it, everyone is way too busy editing their ship with the space station terminals

I still haven’t fired up the expedition yet.

Looks like a crazy glitch universe when reading about it from the sidelines

I’m wondering how an offliner is going to possibly get a lift with someone. Kind of forces ones hand to turn on MP when you don’t generally play that way due to bugginess messing games up.

I can’t get a lift. Even if I stow away.

There can be multiple ships stacked in one spot. It is very confusing.

One will take off and I get moved and the scenery changes. Now I am in another ship but still in the Anomaly.

I don’t believe just sitting in a ship is ever going to work for me.

This would be much easier if someone came planet side or if I was in the other person’s group.

Have you considered spotting someone landed on a planet and just landing next to them?

Every time I head towards someone on a planet, they fly away.

No one likes me :joy:

We all have shared trauma from online experiences because of other video games.

Turns out my generation do have war trauma, from being called the F slur on call of duty over Xbox live one too many times.

Best to just leave an entire planet than take the risk.

Everyone is Rambo with a spaceship. They just want to be alone with their PTSD. :joy:

It’s an optional milestone so not required to finish the expedition.

Unfortunately for @Polyphemus , fishing is a requirement. But they were kind, it’s only 3 and of the any type variety.

The other optional one and the catalyst for the expedition, imprinting your data at space stations, is a community led goal and was at around 80% last I was on, so that could complete by tonight or tomorrow depending on your timezone. It’s at 95% now, so it should be done very soon. I forgot how many people are probably playing this expedition VS every other one that’s ever happened.

I’ve completed the expedition but want to do the optional community one as it concludes the purpose of the expedition and rewards 1200 QS.

Have switched back to main for now to organise all my corvette parts into that newly accessible cache and get working on a corvette with proper intent and not just making do with what was on hand.
