Having spent some time clambering aboard as a stow away, I got the milestone.
What ended up ultimately happening was, I stood in traveller-465ās ship with who I thought was the pilot but later turned out to be traveller-605 (are these switch usernames? Seeing a number of these).
When we both exited and realised neither of us owned the ship we were waiting for the other to take off, they beckoned and ran to the next ship over which was their actual ship.
They took me for a spin in theirs then sailed back to the Anomaly.
They followed me to my ship and I intended to return the favour but an incoming ship collided with them (or something), I saw them get flung off screen. Then suddenly they were trapped in my ships walls. This is the second time this happened today.
What was unique about this one was they briefly appeared as a stretched out two dimensional texture across the exit ramp briefly, like a weird ghost.
I could not return the favour
I was streaming at the time, Iāll return with a timestamp link because it was some silly corvette hiccup weirdness.
(here is a timestamped link of the trapped traveller that helped me get the milestone. May their sacrifice be remembered)
@sheralmyst the base is at the second RV system.
Hitching rides at the anomaly might be less frowned upon and easier to pull off as more than four will land (it just makes additional ships invisible when sharing a landing pad) and people in space stations might be editing their ship, while at the anomaly thereās no risk of getting in someoneās way like that.
As @AdaRynin pointed out itās an easy distance to fill with the speed ships go at, I got kicked off immediately on most attempts. The ones where I made it to the exit and a shipless warp screen, about 2500 of the 10,000 would be filled shortly after exiting the anomaly before the pilot stops or a bug jettisoned me.
Around 2-3 attempts and the final ride with the unlucky pancake man got me to 10,000 eventually.
If the numbers of people waiting to get this grow around here it might not be a bad idea to organise an Atlas CSD work Carpool.
Anomaly is definitely the best place for it, everyone is way too busy editing their ship with the space station terminals
