But I am a completionists. There would be a forever empty slot in the list ….
Yes, that level of fishing I can treat like I do, for instance, dental treatment. Deeply unpleasant, but necessary. I just tell myself it will be over soon - and it was.
I give up
There was 1 ship in the Anomaly. I headed towards them and poof! Gone….
I am nearing the end of the expedition. I will hold off finalising it so I can stay in the game, then I will start offering rides to people.
I think it’s probably best if I build a little planetary base to do this - less chance of ship mixing.
I’m on PC normal mode (not experimental). I know from experience that PS players can join my game.
More on this when I’ve built something.
Ok. Got into a ship and I am not sure what happened. I suddenly saw stars outside the hatch but then, the same crash I continue to get …
I stood there an gave thumbs up but all I got was people coming on board and getting the milestone from me, and I myself was not getting it.
If you are desperate, we could join each other’s games for it over the weekend.
I flew into a space station with a passenger (the second one had left or jumped off? It’s really hard to see what they are doing and react to it accordingly!) and the space station also fell apart in front of my eyes and was non-solid. I just so managed to make a U turn and then decided to go into the Anomaly instead, which was successful.
How are we even still “alive” and playing with so many bugs?!? You know when people in e.g. Star Citizen have bugs, their whole ship and cargo dies with them in a tragic elevator accident, or something. They are now posting
NMS is the SC that we deserve.
I am experimental so it all depends on whether I am in sync or not.
Yeah. Anomaly is glitched. Just having other player’s ships enter and leave causes the glitch and the game crashes…
Polyphemus staying in multiplayer to offer rides to people! I can take a shift in the European evening.
Successful intercultural communication right there!
OMG!!! Finally!!! I nice guy on the space station said yes.
I got stuck walking in their ship as we jetted thru space. Once completed, I thanked him and wanted to hand him some goodies but I couldn’t open my backpack. So I jumped out the back and called in my emergency ride.
Thank goodness that is over
Now, 96% on that last milestone
Aaaand now I am stuck in my ship with the ramp half open…
I don’t think my ramp has ever closed - either on this ship, or the 2 corvettes I built in the main game. I don’t care. It’s not like I have small children running around in the back.
No. Just one old addled man.
just kidding!
what am I to expect out of a cobbled together ship of junk pieces
After finishing the expedition and getting the final reward, my biggest wish now is the ability to summon and have our pets running around on board. Size allowing.
My experience with ramps has been mixed. It will behave correctly most times, other times it will not.
Sometimes it will decide to open on take off and remain that way, other times it will remain shut. Sometimes it opens fully on landing as intended, other times it does not. Going through warp sometimes will fix the door and cause it to close and behave properly. Other times, it will open when coming out of warp.
I built some stairs directly out to the roof from my interior right next to the cockpit. This is now my prefered method of entry/exit/mid flight star gazing asteroid scraping dance parties.
Inconsistencies aside, the platform does have two modes or degrees of extension.
When in mid flight, if opened via the switch, it does not fully descend, which I believe is the intention as it acts more like a diving plank than a slip and slide in this instance.
The fully extended ramp is intended for exit during a landing rather a mid air jump.
While playing/testing the corvettes betweem my ps5/PC I noticed for the person visiting the corvette, the landing pad will always fully extend even in mid flight, which can lead to some fun clipping issues from the corvette pilots perspective, where the visitor is standing on solid air slightly below the 45 degree opening of the offramp.
As for the Titan class bottom loader, I’ve only used it once and its tricky to find the switch and a very bumpy jolting experience going up or down the thing, reminded me of my uncles old rusty one man cherry picker, fun/scary. Might just need some hydraulic fluid or a whack of WD40.
Harsh.
True, but harsh.
Well, I have fallen out of my Corvette several times so I can’t really say much.
Mine is mostly clumsiness. 3rd person is tough in such a small area. I trip easily over myself
When someone starts playing NMS now, how long does it take for them to get to the corvettes, what’s the entry point? Is reaching the first space station enough to use the workshop, or are specific story missions needed?
Obviously the players needs to dig up the parts or make the money to buy them, but I would consider that normal preconditions.
PS: I could of course just start a new save and test it, but… expedition!
Started a new game to find out.
In the meantime, if anyone wants to hitch a ride with another player, I found asking at the space station better than hitching at the anomaly for this reason; in the Anomaly, I sometimes see no ship at all. I see the players but no ship.
Sometimes I see 2 or 3 players and 1 ship but there are actually several ships in one spot. The person I see may not own the ship I see.
I found that sitting inside the visible ship could easily result in a crash as the ship I couldn’t see left the Anomaly.
It is a really weird mess.
Granted, the same stacked ship scenario can happen at a space station but I backed up and chose an earlier RV point so it was less busy.
I still think @toddumptious’ idea of a ride sharing base is best. If it’s built well away from the general madness and shipbuilding, we should be ablee to minimise the interference.
Did you get any further with that, @toddumptious ?
On the planet Sosindson in the final rendezvous system, I’ve built and uploaded a base right next to the sentinel pillar. It’s called “Goodbye, Sentinels”. Go there. Switch them off.
I agree. This would definitely be the best option.
To answer @AdaRynin
Yes. The ability to build a Corvette is available as soon as you arrive at the Space Station in a new game
However, the parts are unaffordable for a new player. You would have to begin salvaging parts. Thankfully, the in game guide gives all of this info.
Name the expedition base after this community I’m on my way to the last third.
BTW, how many of you complete the milestones in order? For me it has become a matter of pride to complete them as much out of order as possible. Optimally, I arrive at rendevouz 3, 4, 5… and have only 2 milestones left each.
