Went on the Daily QS quest to pull weeds today. Nexus warped me to a single planet system with an Anomaly planet that didnât have a marker. Pulled the Nexus into the system and re-boarded. Flew out and still no marker. Went back in and abandoned the quest. Selected it again (still pulling weeds) and flew out. No marker. Thought Iâd try entering space and returning. Pulled up the galactic map and saw the marker on the next system over. Went there and completed the quest.
Normally the Nexus dumps me out where I need to be.
Happen to anyone else?
If by âpulling weedsâ you mean one of the missions to destroy hazardous flora, then yes. It happened to me once. I quit the mission eventually and the replacement mission was of a different type.
Yep, the hazardous flora, Floral Menace, Herbivorous Bloodshed, etc. I generally play every daily and have been sent to a planet without a marker twice. Donât remember if the first one was one of the floral ones or not. Next time, if I remember, Iâll try the galactic map and see if the flora has high-tailed it to a neighboring system before giving up.
Thanks for the heads-up on this. I have also had a no-show marker, but finally gave up and waited for another QS mission to show up.
Next time I will open the galaxy map.
I had it happen last night while in multiplayer (permadeath). KnightAlese and I joined a third person (newly met LORDTEMERARIO (sp?)) for this mission.
I somehow was not in the same lobby and could not see the marker. However, the other 2 activated the marker, which worked for me in my system. Also, my plant kills worked towards the total for the mission.
The first time I took a hazardous flora mission, I landed at the designated area, looked left, looked right, started blasting nearby hazardous flora, but got no âcredit.â
So I went further away and blasted more. Nothing.
Then, as I returned to my (large) ship, I noticed something important under the tail.
Sigh. And of course, all the hazardous flora in the area were blasted now. (facepalm). Live and learn.
Had it too, but for me the atlas was hidden by my ship. I had to move it first
My first time taking that mission, I landed and like you blew away the flora that were nearby and wondered why my counter wasnât going up.
Turns out that the quest marker was just on the other side of the ridge completely out of sight from where my ship landed.
Until then I had no idea there was even a marker one needed to interact with to start the quest.
I flew off to another planet and completed the mission there.
Did the solo Whispering Swarm quicksilver mission today. Iâm usually sent to three different locations but today I was sent to the same location three times. A bit boring but saved some time.
Picked up the Erroneous Evolution quicksilver mission today. Similar to yesterdays. I tagged in with the structure and then realized that it was the same site and had not respawned the eggs. Popped up in space, accessed the galactic map and returned to find that I didnât know where the site was - should have left a beacon. Eventually found another (could have been the same) site and only had to play it once to complete the mission. So thoughtful of the HG developers.
Had some issues with a community event today. Was sent to destroy a depot. I did.
This has always been a problem if you destroy the depot with your shipâs weapons - the game doesnât recognise that youâve done it, but the depot has been destroyed, and canât be destroyed again. So the mission canât be completed.
But Iâve never seen it happen if you approach the depot on foot, and attack with personal weapons. Thatâs new - and must be very irritating.
I have had this happen if I sniped the depot before engaging the sentinels. On foot or from the ship. (I donât know if that is what happened here, just another example of an unforgiving state machine.)
Yeah. I think I may have strafed the depot while aiming at a sentinel. I destroyed the depot on foot afterwards. Apparently, even a stray shot from your ship will derp the whole mission.
For that mission I usually land near the depot and approach on foot to properly trigger the counter. Then generally I can get back in my ship and blast all 5 containers without issue. I started doing that because they actually bugged out on me more often on-foot!
Funny how a lot of these events are like that:
Go there> trigger the event> go to another planet to complete the event because the targets are no-show. (hazardous flora, critter feeding, sometimes bones, too).
Iâve had those depot missions bug out on me many time. Iâm going to try @Arghâs method.
EDIT: It works! Well that was the fastest and easiest I have ever done a depot mission. Thank you!
My current approach is to land ship close, get out, blow depot from a safe distance with geology cannon. Back in ship and take out any sentinels/walkers if needed else fly around till sentinel force deactivated.
