What's Hubbening? - Transmissions from the Galactic Community

Thank you for the information.

If this Civ has a griefer problem, I would hope their own community members can take care of their own problematic members or keep them in line for the day that’s in it.

If not, then people can just stay away from their event and let them be children in their own little corner of the universe. I’m sure the Discord moderators and network of event streamers will be keeping visitors informed, which has been a standard for NMS community events in the years I’ve taken part and attended.

Every festival seems to come with griefers, whether they’re a part of the festivities or not; my experience with past community events is that there are always helpful people on hand to distract them, track them and of course send out the warnings. Unification Day etc is no different.

You can’t stop them from showing up to any publicly advertised community gathering, it’s exactly what they seek out. All you can do is be prepared for the inevitability.

I would hope this does not put off people from joining and taking part, as they always eventually get bored and go away. If they have their own little event space to get their childishness out of their system, well that may have unseen benefits to the event as a whole.

I know I will be staying away from any PVP events at community organised days, as I always do, not my vibe, so thankfully I was going to be staying away from their event anyway.

The event, from my understanding, is open to all, and to refuse them an event space, I would only imagine, would embolden them to go and wreak havoc on everyone elses.

The idea of this festival, having read the About section etc, seems to be about celebration and inclusiveness, and that’s the mantra I want to carry with me going in, rather than make people fearful that awful things will happen.

Griefers are gonna grief, and community police are going to police. Just as they do with every UD and community event that’s come before it.

If everyone avoided things because of the potential or presence of griefers, Hello Games would pretty much never run an Expedition. Lets not let them spoil the festivities pre-emptively like this.

edit:

Sorry did not see this until after I responded

I know nothing about them or their past or what they may have done to your community, but I am all about change and rehabilitation and giving people that chance. Communitie members, leaderships and mantras also change over time within online spaces, so lets hope this is the first sign of turning a new leaf.

If it’s not, well then all we can do is hope that some day they do, and learn how to LARP as an actual pirate legion within the community instead of a bunch of childish immature griefers.

The two main leaders of Pirate Syndicate are the griefers, I have extensive video evidence if you’d like to see it. I actually submitted the video evidence to Hello Games via Zendesk to request network bans on the griefers’ accounts. That’s how severe it was: griefing other players’ bases, intentionally causing crashes (then bragging about doing so), using exploits to bypass “PVP Disabled” setting, using exploits to PVP on a Space Station against people who don’t know how to fight back, using mods to summon Bio-Horrors to attack players with PVP disabled, placing giant unreportable Biodomes to try to trap players, etc.

They are part of the Grand Festival planning committee and the security team for one of the main civilizations involved in the planning. I won’t name the civ (it’s not Voyager’s Haven) because unlike Pirate Syndicate, I do not believe that civ as a whole is malicious or a griefing group… but they’re willing to overlook griefing if it benefits them, and that’s a shame for the whole NMS community.

It’s not just a matter of “they’re showing up and no one can stop them,” They were intentionally included in the planning process even after I offered to provide evidence of their griefing (and other severely problematic conduct that I don’t even want to get into on this forum).

I hope you’re right about them following a path to rehabilitation. If they’re never a headache for me again and they reflect on their other severely problematic behaviors, great. I do not expect things to go that way though - I think they’re acting like a legitimate civilization because they know they could never maintain community goodwill if they continued behaving as they have in the past, not because they actually recognize that behavior was wrong.

Still, the vast majority of people attending the Grand Festival have no idea about any of that, so even with all of that said: I hope everyone else has fun.

Lets try and focus on the enthusiasm for the event instead of the drama side of things. Appreciate a healthy concern, but let the event planned festivities have focus please.

Thank you :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Have any well known YouTubers announced a plan to stream any events? I may not have my new computer ready by then but would watch a stream by a tablet.

PodManSky will be covering events.

Wow, cool site! Is that the same map mentioned recently, that needed a plugin or app to track discoveries? And there is also a web form?

Galactic posters. Auto-generated weekly posters showing where your civilization has been. Nice for Discord announcement channels.

These posters you pasted here are a good idea to advertise it, but they still left me with many questions – that are answered on their website, if you are curious. First impression/feedback: The posters sound at first like a paid hosting service for any online community (they don’t even say it’s about NMS), but that’s not what they mean, it’s a public NMS map communities can fill in. I don’t know how to say it, the poster is written from their point of view, it’s not written for us, if you understand what I mean?

I recommend also reading this page to clarify: Haven Control Room - Web UI

Every community deserves to outlast the person holding it up.

I agree with that statement. Just please don’t introduce this project to a community leader with that phrase, it sounds inadvertently ominous.

The haven is more than the map but good point, it might not be so clear in the statements what this is for, from our perspective. Not exactly directed at us here, its more aimed towards Discord based communities or those who want to start one.

I can probably explain some things as best as I understand it.

Ekimo builds and hosts websites too on their microlab server, such as the upcoming NMS10 website for community celebrations based around the big day coming up in August.

Another site is the Haven Archive, which aims to be kinda like a Jstore type source that plans to collect and store information on the history of all NMS communities and civilisations, wether they are still around or gone, with a timeline to show their rise, growth or decline over the first decade of NMS and beyond.

Travellers-Exchange is a fake crypto for civilisations, basically the monopoly money version that doesnt need a bloc chain etc but has the appearance of one. Its being designed to replace the item exchange that people use in game to trade for services and essentially give Civs and communities that like to RP an economy, an actual GDP based on their size, presence and activities in cross community relations.

It also hosts various bots that are useful for community moderation and efficiency on discord channels.

Ekimo and folk are now extending the services of the micro-lab to others and offering up a place for bot access and hosting but also, to advertise these services for communities to keep track of their systems, economy and history.

The map itself has great control for civs in its functions. Civ leaders can set up their users with admin accounts who can then approve or deny submissions to the map that are tagged with their Civs ID, and it offers privacy controls so civilisations can choose which information is visible to the public or their private users when logged in, things like glyphs, location, planet details etc can be hidden from public view.

One of the most interesting software programmers Ive seen come into NMS in its 10 years, making things I always imagined would be cool but never really knew how they could work or be integrated.

Ekimo works fast too and always open to suggestions and inprovements. They had that Skyscraper.havenmap.online info primer set up within a day of me telling them about the ARG and I’m genuinely excited to see where they take all of this and beyond (they will of course be doing similar stuff for LNF). They also built and host the website for the Grand Festival which kicks off tomorrow, and aims to become the summers answer to winters Unification Day :confetti_ball::fireworks::partying_face:

Ultimately it would be great to see more and more communities use these sites and ideas and come together more than ever before in a cohesive global and cosmic community as we cross into NMS’s second decade

Today is the big day, the first day of the inaugural Grand Festival.

I thought I would check the schedule and re-adjust for any changes made since last week so people are kept up to date and in the loop. There has already been some re-arranging for day one as well as some fantastic additions!

The glyphs will be released at 4:00:00 PM and I’ll leave a reply to this post when they go public.

I will also make a new post for each day and it’s schedule as it progresses, along with recaps of the previous days antics; things that worked, stuff that broke, any known troublemakers to be aware of; that sort of thing. But mostly, screenshots of all the splendour on display and links to any streamer coverage.

So without further ado, here are the planned events for the first day of the Grand Festival.

And last but not least you can join the discord to stay up to date in real time and also keep in contact with news, organisers, and the flow of the festival as it happens on the weekends. Below you will find the Grand Festival Attendee Guide, which is absolutely worth a read over, especially if this is your first time attending something like this.

Grand Festival Attendee Guide

Welcome, Travelers! :waving_hand:

Whether you’re attending for a single event or spending the entire weekend exploring, these tips will help ensure everyone has the best possible experience!

Festival Gates open 4:00:00 PM

Bring a Legacy Starship

Please arrive in a standard starship. Corvettes can contribute to loading issues and compete with bases and Festival attractions for system resources. Using a regular starship helps everyone enjoy the builds and activities as intended!

Taxi Services Available

Need help reaching an event, community showcase, or featured destination? Festival Taxi Services will be available throughout the weekend to help Travelers move between locations and activities! :taxi:

Allow Time for Bases to Load

The Festival system is packed with incredible creations from communities across the galaxy. Depending on platform and connection speed, some bases may take a few moments to fully appear. If something doesn’t load immediately, be patient and give the game a moment to catch up! :safety_vest:

Festival Etiquette

Be Respectful

Treat fellow Travelers with courtesy and respect both in-game and in voice chat. We come from many different communities, playstyles, and backgrounds. The Festival is a place to celebrate what brings us together.

Respect Event Hosts

Many hosts have spent weeks or even months preparing their activities and builds. Please follow event instructions, listen to hosts, and help create a positive experience for everyone attending.

Keep Communication Friendly

Voice chat and text chat are encouraged! Introduce yourself, meet new people, and don’t be afraid to join conversations. Some of the best Festival memories happen between scheduled events.

Help New Travelers

Not everyone attending will know their way around. If someone is lost, confused, or looking for an activity, lend a hand if you can. :heart_hands:

Most Important of All…

Explore! Visit communities you’ve never heard of. Attend an event you normally wouldn’t try. Meet new people, take photos, and share discoveries!

The Grand Festival was created as a celebration of the people who give this universe life. It’s a chance to meet the people behind the builds, the stories behind the communities, and the Travelers who have helped make this universe feel like home.

:diamond_suit: We hope you have an incredible weekend! :diamond_suit:

My former Information Security self adds, but be careful not to disclose personal information that a griefer or criminal might be able to use. A gathering like this is fertile ground for such malcontents.

Sometimes friendly contacts are not so friendly IRL. That also might pertain to griefers looking for future victims.

:tada: THE GRAND FESTIVAL IS NOW OPEN! :tada:

After months of planning, building, organizing, and collaboration, the gates are officially open.

From this moment forward, Travelers from across the No Man’s Sky universe will gather for a weekend (maybe 2 :eyes: ) of exploration, celebration, creativity, competition, friendship, and discovery!

Visit incredible community showcases. Attend events hosted by civilizations from across the galaxy. Meet creators, builders, explorers, and fellow Travelers. Race exocraft, hunt treasures, watch fireworks, win prizes, discover new communities, and create memories that will last long after the Festival closes.

:taxi: Need a ride? Free taxi services are available to bring Travelers directly to the Festival Grounds!

The Festival Grounds are ready. The hosts are ready. Now all that’s missing is you!

Check earlier post here for today’s schedule and links to Discord to stay informed

I will be alternating between PS5/PC since there is a version mismatch, but hope to see some of my favourite ETARCians there over the weekend <3

A gigantic one that was probably 10 times bigger than a frigate flew overhead a while ago in my current instance… Some people just do not know how to follow good community etiquette or care to read the guidelines :frowning:

I’m wondering should we make a new thread specifically for Grand Festival fun and shenanigans?

Thanks a lot for having us represented on such short notice!! I quickly found the Atlas-64 message and logo at the Neoterra site on the first planet. :star_struck: :raising_hands:

Started a new thread here:

The Festival continues on Saturday and Sunday, so everybody, check it out!

The first day of the Festival went off without a hitch, despite PC and Console players being seperated by an ill-timed Version Mismatch.

Organisers, chaperones and mods were on hand to help where needed and did a bang up job.

No griefing was reported which was an absolute miracle, perhaps aided somewhat by the Version Seperation. Console instances had insane numbers, I cycled between 3-4 different ones at one point just to see, all very full.

Got to hang out on both sides of the boundaries by booting up my PC playthrough too.

Some additions and re-arrangements to the schedule made for day 2 compared to the version I posted last week.

Festival Day 2: Saturday, 20 June 2026

3:00:00 PM - Voidborne Empire - Airshow with dragons over the festival grounds

4:00:00 PM - Pirate Syndicate - Grav Boxing & Carnival Build Showcase

5:00:00 PM - Buddies - Pilgrim Exo Roller Coaster

6:00:00 PM - The Neoterra Collective - Grand Festival & Fireworks Show

7:00:00 PM - Everion Empire - PvP Demolition Derby and spectating. Fishing at seaside and exotic pet egg giveaways

8:00:00 PM - PodManSky - A live podcast on-site at the Main Festival grounds

9:00:00 PM - Aurelis Prime - Xeno Tournament

10:00:00 PM - Bunsmasters - Baking Competition

11:00:00 PM - Nexus Travellers - Base “Feria Latina + discoteca bitbeat”

12:00:00 AM - Redwater Runners - Planet/Build cruise with corvette showcase

1:00:00 AM - Osalde House Atreides - Team PvP ( TBA)

3:00:00 AM - No Man’s High HUB - Gaze at the art installations and live glitch building

4:00:00 AM - NMS Galactic Empire - Mos Espa Pod Race and Mos Eisley Cantina Hangout 24/7

You can find all the glyphs for the events now posted at https://grandfestival.online/whos-going and by clicking on schedule. If it doesn’t have glyphs next to it, it means it’s taking place at the Main Festival Grounds system, which I will post the glyphs to below.

Remember, please don’t bring a corvette to the event systems and be respectful of others. If you want to join in on the party in full, voice chat with attendees and keep up to dat in full on where the partys moving to from hour to hour, the Grand Festival Discord is the place to do it.

Big shout out to Agent Spike and Jenness for being gracious hosts and organisers, and fantastic job well done to Lead Mod Art3mis and moderators Santa and Dread Pirate for keeping every one safe and on message.

Can’t wait for the Dragon Air Show to kick off todays festivities, hopefully see some of you Etarcians there or in spirit through the great version mismatch divide!

Bad news for

Due to unforseen circumstances, the organisers for the Voidborne Empire will not be able to make it.

However, those of us with Dragons are going to fly around anyway and make the most of it

I couldn’t visit as many events as I would have liked to yesterday but it was another well organised day with a lot of fun, I particularly had a great time at the Buddies Rollercoaster and while I don’t normally PVP, spectating the Grav Boxing match was fun, even if it did devolve into a shoot out. There was even an impromptu mech dance party and a tiny RC exocraft tear around.

I made a little typo yesterday on Dread Pirate’s name but I think Bread Pirate would make for a great alter ego.

Thanks again to everyone who organised this festival and all the communities involved with making it happen by building event spaces and designing interesting activities. The Main Festival Grounds are some of the best I’ve ever seen and walking through them feels like a real place, gave me flashbacks to all the music festivals I’ve ever camped at and wandered through.

You can find all the glyphs for the events now posted at Summer Grand Festival · 2026 and by clicking on schedule. If it doesn’t have glyphs next to it, it means it’s taking place at the Main Festival Grounds system, which I will post the glyphs to below.

Remember, please don’t bring a corvette to the event systems and be respectful of others. Avoid building in event spaces too so folks can find the sites without getting too lost amidst icons on the horizon.

If you want to join in on the party in full, voice chat with attendees and keep up to dat in full on where the partys moving to from hour to hour, the Grand Festival Discord is the place to do it.
