It’s not the destination but the journey…Stephen Hawking

Confirmed. This is a working link to the file I got from 500 miles out:

That’s the one! Now to catch up…

Don’t quote me on this but I would swear that it sounds like a distorted single-rotor helicopter.

It’s been a long day for me and I’m off to bed :frowning:
I’m sure you’ll have it all figured out tomorrow morning… Good Luck!

Sadly, I don’t speak helicopter. When I had the choice at university, I chose teapot instead.

I knew the FBI would be coming for all of us before this was all over.

Goodnight.

The obvious difference to the next distant one is that there’s a clear “blirrr” sound after the second “boom” (man’ describing sounds in words sure is messy).
There’s nothing suspicious showing up in a spectrograph at that point, though, and that’s the only tool I have right now.

Edit: Any penguins on this forum? No? Pitty. They might take some good readings right now…

Might want to include gamer_123 's contribution too: https://s3.amazonaws.com/ware-virtual-dashboard/videos/cal/no-signal.mp4

The sound file sounds brings me back to when I did some Scuba Diving. Sounds like under water bubbles and breathing, listening some more to see what else stands out.

The no signal sound also reminds me of the background sound on WT which I have long wondered about.

All the effects sound very heavy and metallic. Like metal on metal.

Maybe the interval or the timing of the ‘beat’ ‘pattern’ is important.

Some beats are single thumps.
Others are double thumps.

Sir, I don’t know where your ship learned to communicate, but it has the most peculiar dialect!

Unfortunately, this thing won’t be anywhere near central europe again for a while, and it’s rather late in central europe by now. I’ll have to leave you guys to it, good luck!
Keep track of the sounds for me, note down the distances, and scrutinize the hell out of the ones that come from nearby.

Can I ask a crazy question? Good. If we are just interested in the sounds why are these files in mp4? I only know of the one file being run through a spec…has anyone checked the other 2 ? I don’t really know how all that works but I do know that mp4 is video.

You’re seeing it as video in the uplink app. Was easier this way to make it look fancy (way easier than synchronising it with any kind of animation). In the context of the game, the sound is what we’re receiving from the satelite, not the video, so I think that’s where the clue will be hidden.
It is very probable that it’ll have to be decoded in some way though. I don’t think they’ll just throw another spectrograph at us.

TBH, I think it’s because the “phone app” is actually just a link - so the only way they could include a graphic of the sound wave was to make a video of it.

Wasn’t even thinking about the sound wave bar on the app even though I am sitting here looking at it.

Okay another wild theory perhaps.
What if the beats indicate a series of numbers like someone hammering out a code.

No signal - Beat 0
thk0s00ab7rxfh14f8bv0qlpvtt367 - Beats 2111
6qhs4a3jiqzso8zipy3822n7412xyv - Beats 131213 (or 4) 1 (unclear)
ty83wrs13xybxj1eqmt9tv2tisrenn - Beats 2111 (repeat?)

So given that two recordings sound the same maybe one is just a repeat.

What if they are ordered in the sequence they were received/released, including maybe the no signal - Beat 0?

We’d get:
021111312131
or 021111312141 (one of the beats could be 4 as it wasn’t clear)

Could that be a valid portal code address for Euclid?

My turn to do a Hawking jump lol
It’s not the destination but the journey @gamer_123 @sheralmyst

*EDIT - Since this post several more audio files have been emerged so this theory should be dismissed as it is incorrect. The post though may help suggest other ideas as the ARG unfolds.
