I feel like “mirror” might indicate a new single player feature for player proc-gen skins/custom skins. And 1.5 (whenever that will be released - soon after?) will be about showing off those skins to other players in the game.
With the Atlas v4 Pass as a way to “unlock” it all with mass interaction, like we did with Loop16/Emily.
This is about as general a theory as I can muster without those nitty-gritty details we oh-so love
Either way, I like reading about the thoughts that are going through your minds! Even the ramp-up to this thing is fun!
My missus’ game has never issued her with a V1 even though she has pretty much got everything & every tech.
Forever will she be crafting WARP CELLS from scratch.
One bug-fix I’d like added is for after 200 warps or something, you reach a final milestone and recieve any missing tech.
Hello Games themselves broke the 4th wall one time during the first Waking Titan, and it was to tell us that the Atlas V4 Passes are DEFINITELY NOT BETA KEYS.
I have a really bad feeling this ARG is gonna DRAG ONNNNN for several weeks instead of just a week or 2.
I follow other Early Access Survival games that give monthly or twice a month videos detailing new and incoming features , whereas with HG we get Kylo Bob and a gerbal lol.
HG is strange, but NMS is too so its a fit i guess : P
Maybe they are called “mirrors” for reasons unknown…
They are big enough to fly through, maybe they allow space ship portal travel…
Perhaps they require a V4 Atlas Pass to activate…
It would be interesting to have it act as a portal for ships, I’d like to see it do a little more though. Maybe transport you back in time to see some of the events in the lore take place. But if it’s anything like the last update we won’t know for sure until the update drops. By the way, gonna leave this image hear from Beaulamb’s art station. His concept and sketch drawings are fantastic.
As far as the lore is concerned, returning to a galaxy is impossible. When you move to a new galaxy, the old one is destroyed - along with its entire history and population. Hence the moral dilemma.
Aren’t those ring things part of the ‘boundary’ system, used to separate the iterations or universes or whatever.
I believe they are still part of the Atlas system but something to do with a second fail- safe entity (whose name I forget) who exists under the Atlas and is heard via the verbal alert system we hear from the suits and ship.
My theory is that those rings are trans-dimentional portals that also serve as kind of fence posts on the boundary between the existences. I also think they are the source of the virus and mechanosphere ‘weapons’ littered on some worlds, either as a portal or as a failed boundary.
Would be cool to travel through them using a ship.
Making me now wonder whether they are part of a failed boundary or if they are a measure to repair or secure a failed boundary. They do have a crossbar as if they are locked up…
I have noticed the interfaces are almost identicle to the Atlas interfaces.
…or are those things part of a containment measure to prevent the contamination of those messed up planets spreading?
The mind boggles at the possibilities
But the gravestone lore talks about all things being preserved in the World of Glass by the sentinels. So if they add story where we boot back up all the realities sent there, we could potentially go back to previous iterations.
Went poking around the webs to see if anything else was known about these structures and found this video with a bunch of the rings and the text they produce when prodded.
It isn’t clear, but it looks like all of these were found on the same planet. The lore that comes from them is… fascinating. Worth a watch, but of course, there are spoilers abound (like I need to warn you guys).
