The first 15 minutes, and they spend 5 of those mining random objects w/ no goal and shaky controls? Either the spooks got em good before starting, or they got someone to record who’d rather be doing anything else :stuck_out_tongue:

I know whoever they put in charge of this likely doesn’t play the game much, but for a video aimed at showcasing the start of a thematically impressive event, you’d think they’d plan ahead instead of wasting half the video doing the part you’d see in any NMS playthrough…

Not scanning the stuff for their secondary resource had me devolved into some sort of arm waving grunt making cave human. If you’re just going to waste 15 minutes showing Launch Day NMS at least do it right, come aaaaawwwn!!!

Well, I’ve never seen any of Ghost Light’s preseentations before - but I have to say, I’m impressed.

He’s actually read, absorbed, and understood the story elements. He makes the minimum of mad, fantastic assumptions, and bases his narrative on what we’ve actually been told.

I also like his slow, measured delivery. None of that frenetic babble so favoured by YouTube presenters. Pretty damn good.

Always been a fan of Ghost’s videos, the production quality of his stuff’s usually amazing, not to mention the high quality lore sources and explanations he delves into. I’ve talked with him on some of these lore points and sometimes disagreed, but when he presents this stuff in his structured video format, with all the in-game references, you can’t help but be convinced haha.

Definitely worth a watch, especially for anyone recently getting into the game’s lore!

For as long as I’ve been on this forum interacting with you guys, I’ve been pineing (pining? Pinning?) for lorestorians and video makers to give the games story the attention and discussion it deserves.

Only because I would do it myself if I was smart enough or had the drive to not convince myself to abandon all video editing projects. It only took me 7 years to get around to making a trapper keeper for lore text.

Time was bided, and the universe delivered.

Ghost Light lore videos are a gift <3

Sitting in an empty green house with tea and a smoke and pressing play :tea:

Knowing I came to some of the same conclusions, theories or ideas as in this video is extremely comforting  It means I haven’t gone off the fringes into deep conspiracy… yet :eyes:

This short film very interesting indeed. An AI robot is lost in space looking for signs of life, and finds another pod nearing a black hole… This robot Ai is looking through the Glass haul as someone looks back. It hits hard if you think about Atlas and the visions of it’s creator.

Well that is definitely Weva or Evallee at the helm
And I mean seriously what are the odds of something hitting the engine. Some really bad luck
So sad… :sob:

The moment you realise there’s zero CGI in this short is the moment you start losing your mind…

This is probably another anomalous coincidence. But it is something strange about what i thought yesterday minutes before your post  , during meeting with Atlas.
Not only message from Atlas is peculiar but also curious shape IT took during that manifestation.

PS. Why i have dust in my eyes after watching it?

That’s not dust. That is Nanites bleeding through every pore  it’s a common side effect of witnessing Atlas-falsity :stuck_out_tongue:

Because the channel you watched it on is… Dust.
Now, watching Dust is a bit of an experimental experience. Since it’s a collection of scifi indie-shorts, there’s a lot of hit-or-miss going on. But if you need something to wash that dust out of your eyes… Watch Caronte:

Yes, it starts out as a generic action flick with too much swearing. Yes, it gets very confusing and disorenting 2 minutes in. But that’s all just leading up to one brilliant brick of a resolution that hits like a damn truck.

Don’t watch on your phone, don’t watch at work. Make your time for this one. You’ll thank me later.
