Sean: Kyle! In 3h, I’m gonna tweet a door. You better have a video ready. About. you know? Doors!
Kyle:

Just to make it clear - the “stepping through a door” movie editing transition comes from Adobe After Effects, not from NMS. So Kyle’s use of the technique, and Sean’s post, are probably just coincidence.
I can’t believe I made this exact same post and I’m only seeing this now ![]()
Great minds and all that…
I couldn’t rememebr the name so I sorted videos by oldest and scrolled my way through their uploads. Coming in here would have been a lot quicker in finding that video

For whatever reason Star Trek never spoke to me as a child, even though my uncle would have the OG series on any time he was babysitting us. Maybe thats the reason, forced proximity as a toddler to weird men sucking their gut in?
Finally I can enjoy the trekiness of it all through the safety of the lens of No Mans Sky.
I do have friends and cousins who are big trekkies so I get it all via osmosis anyway.
This channel deserves all the subs.
Streaming my expedition for anyone stuck away from their NMS machine and don’t mind watching someone who takes irregular 15-20 minute smoke and/or sammich breaks with zero warning.
Say whuuuuuuuu?!
Fun fact while on the discussion of sound in NMS. The sounds are triggered using a Path Tracing system, as demonstrated by Paul Weir in this 2017 GDC talk
Part of what made the derelict freighters one of the best updates, is the sound. Lots of creaking and such. Really sets a mood.
Ditto on the Abandoned Anomaly violAAAAGHS!!!
I had to leave a comment when they completely removed Telamon via sound design. A few others made similar tongue-in-cheek comments about it too. My people!!
After some thought on the matter… I guess you could consider it a mercy killing after what the Atlas did to them.
It came up in conversation and now I can’t stop dwelling on it.
I’m returning to a Permadeath save I started around this time last year and made it 16 hours in… A fitting number to stop at but I guess I gotta see what lies beyond 16 ![]()
I was further along in the Artemis questline than I had remembered, currently in the countdown towards 16 and finished off the second of the days sessions by making contact with the story-prompted Settlement.
It’s nestled in a beautiful tree line that adds character to the exterior and interior of the locals habitats. Skip to the end for a look-see.
I just saw someone get kidnapped on permadeath mode ;0; I didn’t think anyone could be so cruel. I hope the player returns before something bad happens to their save ![]()
I happened to be live streaming at the time and came back just to see them push them up the ramp, I tried getting to them to safeguard the AFK player but I was too late.
CCTV footage of the kidnapping begins at 2:16:00ish, basically the last four minutes.
I don’t think I’ll be going AFK in there again on Permadeath :-/
This is where you wish you could pretend to be AFK, then once the kidnapper has you in the middle of nowhere, let go with a few plasma rounds and bail out a split second before they go off.
Even if they were just bringing them to a safe place as a harmless prank which I’ve seen done, the risk of a glitch ejecting them face first into a planet is still there, somewhat harmless in regular modes but on permadeath you do not mess with those odds.
I feel like I want to answer the call of vigilantism now after this. I keep watch and don’t afk my station and prevent any further kidnappings.
I just need a universe appropriate lore accurate superhero name…
FriendMan… ?
Do we not have an appropriate title in the banner section? There are so many…protectorate…defender…bodyguard…champion…watchdog…custodian of the nexus…have gun-will travel…guardian of the sleeping…
