It seems to me to be approaching 3.5 % at weekends but a bit under 2.5 % weekdays, but that’s just my finger in the air estimates. It definitely is going faster now than it was a few weeks ago. I am sure others have been keeping spreadsheets, so may be able to give more accurate info, but eyeballing it seemed good enough for me once we have the early data.
Partly because, as a Sage I quickly stopped bothering tracking the percentage of each mission type per traveller fragment in each team.
First missions of the day complete. I’ve noticed that the reported information: players and score, matches (or is more closely matched) between the Good Old Games version and the Steam version. It had been a wider difference between the two, something I’ve seen with the number of bases in populated systems. The number of bases on planets varies dramatically.

maybe different platforms are not perfectly in synch reporting how may players have started the expedition, mine seem to only update as each eight hour block refreshes. That may explain the various discrepancies of 1, 2, 3 or 4 out on the team scores vs the calculated ones, but it looks like the discrepancies ought to be larger from that.
Have you just been doing the restore when it’s a quick hand in in the GOG one?
I just ran the swarm mission with the derelict freighter. There were other players in the area. I finished off the swarm and was booting up the next mission when I suddenly was under attack. I never saw it but it sounded just like the thing outside the space stations was attacking me. My shields were down within 2 shots and then I was dead. I was nowhere near the space station.
When I respawned in the space station and jump into my ship, all the players in the area left one by one in rapid succession.
Edit: I just double checked my settings. Apparently, a recent patch turned PvP on…because I certainly did not
Edit: even more weird…the thing outside the space station is gone…at every station…
Yep. I jumped out of the expedition and back in. Did a reload. Restart…nothing. The thing outside the Space Staions is gone.
I’ve been noticing the Swarm Mother (that’s how I think of it) now appears more randomly near the stations, sometimes there and sometimes not. Maybe we’ve all bounced to so many systems, the Swarm is spreading itself too thin to be everywhere at once. ![]()
Now I’m on the lookout for a Stu planet to build on! Discovering a planet of my own was not enough!
Time to go do my part, as the kids in that Heinlein movie say!
The game seems to refer to them as the Emperor of Glass in the milestones etc so I’ve been going with that moniker
I had a good one yesterday, where you need to land to get the data out of the fallen swarmer. The ship repeatedly ignored my landing command - I sometimes get an issue where it starts ignoring keyboard input and a switch away from the game window and back solves it, so I kept trying that but it didn’t work, Eventually I decided to reload, so I went back up to space, summoned the Anomaly and as I entered, got the mission accomplished awards, so didn’t need to go back.
I’ve not tried yet, but has anyone seen it where, say, they go to the planet’s atmosphere but don’t land and then return to the Anomaly? I’m wondering if there’s a bug that will complete them in some reliable way like that.
There is one mission planet in particular that seems to have a landing issue. I have been to this planet 3 times and each time, I could not land. One time, there were 4 of us who could not land.
Yep it is a bug. I was able to replicate it too and not in multiplay. The mission I did prior was the Assist Polo and completed that whilst present in the Anomaly as I had the resource already in my inventory. However I left the Anomaly forgetting to have picked up the next mission. I selected the Sabotage mission from the Menu (not via the Anomaly) and warped along the path plotted to the system without entering the Anomaly. However before I reached the mission system I stopped in a nearby system and returned to the Anomaly (for safety) as I had something IRL thing to do, but the mission completed when I landed in the Anomaly. I never reloaded or stopped the game at any time.
Edit: I am not playing experimental.
Thanks that’s interesting. I was going to try and find a reliable reproduction before reporting it.
I should have said that I wasn’t in multiplayer, I find things can get quite laggy and I want to avoid the exocraft laser bug that usually appears after a few days.
I find the odd planet is a bit slow to land on but this one just didn’t work. It’s a moon (I think, certainly small) and has a lot of bases, so I wonder if it never finishes rendering properly.
I’ve found it to be a mix of things: planet not fully loading, bases nearby (even if they don’t appear), landing pad at a nearby poi throws off the landing sequence, etc. Sometimes just flying out into orbit and back will fix…
I also had one last night where I could not land until I smashed into the planet and was inverted, the sequence “clicked” and I landed.
Does anyone here know/play as Citizen Scientist Pr1dBjOrn? I popped into one of the mission systems about an hour ago and saw interloper’s name as they left the system.
In a related story, I’m now Citizen Scientist Astrosurf in-game (didn’t know that was an option, I typically apply the latest expedition title). Wheeeeee Go Sage!
We had a bit of a party around here when they added the Citizen Scientist title in the QS store ![]()
Don’t know any Pr1dBj0rn. Did they ding your starship? You trying to get in touch with their insurance? ![]()
I briefly used the Citizen Scientist title on at least one of my saves, I have only ever used cattivision as my steam name, but I thought it was just a nod to the various IRL (or our simulation) citizen scientist projects and had no idea there was any link to this community and knew nothing about Waking Titan back then either, so it could just be they have no idea what that means to you.
Similarly I have used the various posters/decals Atlas Foundation, NMS France, Galactic Hub, Café 42 etc, just because they looked good for what I was doing with a particular base, it was only later I realised they are representative of actual community groups.
Hello Games own and operate this forum and it’s indentity, so I think they have a feeling of what it means to us ![]()
Edit: @Cattivision below
ah sorry, I totally misread waht you said, apologies <3
I meant the players choosing the title might not realise, not Hello Games adding it to the game.
Edited for typos
I bet! I had a small party when I realized I could interlope as a CS! [don’t know of/haven’t researched a 3D ID printer near me, but at least there’s that!] He didn’t ding my ship, but after I landed in the station, a random fellow (French-texting) Sage ran up and gifted me some starship valves before disappearing. MY SAVE IS RUINED oh sorry I thought I was on Reddit there for a second
Absolutely, could just be anyone who thinks that’s a cool moniker. And it is a cool moniker. And, not exactly off-topic, it does mean a lot for me to be here. What a time – for reasons both game-related and also more personal – to have stumbled into all you fantastic folks. I am pleased & proud to stitch CS on my banner.
