In this topic Anniversary Planet Poll , it looks like Todd is actually able to control the ship, what is this magic? Which Modules do you have installed? Or are you using a controller?
For me, when I steer (i.e. move the mouse) it always overshoots the rotations (yaw/pitch) like a rubberband. In either control mode…
Roll (by pressing A and D) feels more controllable in comparison.

He plays with a controller. I also use a controller on PC. It’s like a whole new world of steering. I can loop and barrel roll and slip sideways like I’m playing Mario Cart.
Some ships handle better than others.
The only complication I sometimes have is the rubber band affect that happens on some planets. It feels like the atmosphere has turned into a thick stew.
I tried playing with a keyboard and quit after 30 seconds

Yup, what Sheral said. Controller is a much happier experience with flying.
I was using both my pc and console to play same time recently so I could use the pc to type and communicate since ps5 does not allow any damn way to type.
Every time I had to fly my ship on PC I felt like I must never have played video games cos I suck at controlling this thing.
I should also add my ship has its manoeuvrability at 2369.5

@AdaRynin : I have adjusted the topic category. Feel free to change it to the regular NMS Voyagers category if you consider it a general discussion topic rather than ‘help/info’.

I do play with KBM, but my biggest gripe is the reduced freedom where the game forces orientation, most obvious over land/water. I’d love to be able to fly upside down again, wherever that may be. Does controller have this same forced experience, or is that specific to KBM too?

I can barrel roll and hold any position desired.

In the air it’s no issue, but getting close to surface almost impossible in my experience

I can easily crash upside down. It makes planet-side pirate battles a lot of fun.

I like flying upside down, i realised its easier if you see the ground as a cavern roof.
I think it does try auto adjust you as you reach the surface but if you keep manually adjusting the roll it overwrites the autocorrect

I really wish we could actually crash and die. As it is, you have to get hung up until your ship takes too much damage.
For the sake of science
upside down close to the ground
On my side close to the ground
This is where auto correct kicks in; over the water. This is as far as I can roll over

Same. My prefered techniques when searching.

I have to say, it appears they lowered the level at which we’re forced upright, both over water and terrain. It still happens though and it makes no sense to me why they’d force this, but it’s not as bad anymore.

I wonder if the safety override upgrade for starships also changes how close to the ground the correction happens.
It would be great if the override also just overrid the auto levelling completely.
