You could just have told them “NO!”, though I hope it’s a Vy’keen settlement at least? Who knows they’re crazy enough to even get a morale boost out of it…
Ah no, wait, you’re having Korvax, if I remember right.
Has anyone gotten a good result from the expedition request thing? Mine went trekking after the sentinels and all they came back with was casualties. I have assumed there is a possible good result and I just got a bad rand, but maybe that’s a “just say no” thing.
It’s been about three days since I was offered a new building decision so here’s my settlement for comparison. Originally it held only Korvax.
So far I cannot be sure but I believe the outcome continues to be negative. I can’t be sure because sometimes the results flash by too fast for me to read. But, that did not stop me from authorizing this little escapade…I mean, what is the worst that can happen?
Since these missions touch on the Lore in NMS, I hope this eventually leads someplace in a future update.
Yes, my settlers wanted to go loot a nearby crashed freighter once, and they came back with spoils and without casualties.
Update: The mission I posted above was a Total Success!
My faith in my settlers is restored.
Frontiers - La Palma update.
Welcome to Lago.
So, is there any advantage to greater profitability?
I had a decision that took on debt and it got paid off in three hours. Obviously greater profits would have paid it off faster, but that’s…well, not a one off, but probably won’t happen all that often. Doesn’t seem like a big deal, and verified that the settlers are not accumulating the profits into savings of any kind.
So it seems the optimal play is to trade profits for pretty much anything so long as you stay ‘in the black.’ Increasing productivity or lowering maintenance doesn’t really accomplish anything past break even.
Or am I missing something?
I don’t think so.
I am comforting myself with the thought that what we have now is “Settlements Mk1”. I think there was stuff HG intended to put in the current releases, but they weren’t able to. Sean has apparently said that there is more settlement related stuff to come.
I’m looking at the current build as Proof of Concept. I hope it will become something a bit more sophisticated.
Oh I have no complaints in that regard, I was just making sure that I was reading the situation correctly. My early decisions were all about getting profitable; and more profitable to burn off the debt. Now I am more into happy citizens and such, but wanted a second opinion.
Once I have a full load of buildings I plan to build a base as close as I can and build stuff in “their” town to fill out the appearances.
Overall, I like it.
I believe my settlement is maxed. All the settlers want to do now is party. We have extremely low maintenance cost so I let them. They are happy. They like me. They really like me.
OK, Sally!
We like you. We really do
