Trump getting sick with the virus could end up saving thousands of lives if it means that those that previously dismissed the threat of the virus now start to take it more seriously.

My normal hasn’t changed much-it just got more stressful. My job cannot be done from home-I have to be there. I sanitize my work area and have gotten by using baby wipes on my hands instead of sanitizer and moisturizing anytime I leave and come back to my ā€œcircle of cleanliness.ā€ This is a major change for me as pre-COVID I have never been much of a hand-washer and was never concerned about getting sick before. Most of the people I deal with at work are great & have been really good to me ! At work I get some people who come in and argue about wearing the mask. They loose the argument 99% of the time & put it on-I come down on those who wear it under their nose, too. I also get the ones that feel they need to get up close. CDC says 6 feet, I go with 12 feet . People want to get within 1 foot. I have no problem giving them a loud, firm, my eyes drilling fiery holes through them, ā€œBACK OFF!ā€ I have one of those jobs where people in my position have been shot for asking people to wear masks. It concerns me. I wear my mask whenever I am at work or in a store and I keep my distance. If I am outside and not within 15 feet of anyone I don’t wear it. I have gone grocery shopping inside the store the entire time. I use my baby wipes after the store, getting gas, touching anything outside my car, house, work area. I will not go to a bar, movie house, eat in a restaurant during this-take out is fine. But it is no big sacrifice not doing that stuff. I swim at the health club because if I didn’t I would go bonkers! I have to reserve pool time and it’s limited. The place is clean & not very many people at the time I go. I live with my aunt, it’s just us in the family, and she worries about her job (she is in her late 70’s and can’t work from home, either). I worry about her-she has panic attacks, simple stuff she see’s as a disaster, like her battery & alternator going dead was a full-on melt down. It’s been harder to deal with her stress because I am the polar opposite. My dogs notice when I’m stressed and are really supportive (one’s a Great Pyr and the other is a mix of high energy, big paws & complete lack of spatial awareness!). I have a ā€œvacation homeā€ that I inherited from my mom and I go there with the doggos every chance I get but will be winterizing it in a couple of weeks. I don’t spend time with other people much-only a select few, not often, outside & distanced, just for a chat or a dog walk. The aloneness doesn’t bother me-I like people and doing stuff with others, but I’m also fine alone. If I didn’t have to physically go into work it would be harder. All in all I’m doing OK. I have the fur-kids, a paycheck, swimming, video games and horror movies, a place to escape to, beautiful fall weather and some home improvement projects I have to do-things could be a lot worse!

Pets can be the best can’t they? Being able to cuddle my cat at night or while watching movies or playing games gives me a sense of peacefulness. Maybe it is the warmth and the purrs. Very calming.

They are the best! Just feeling the furry bodies next to me is the best calm! We just got a kitten too-he’s more my aunt’s. Jammie my Pyr LOVES him! I love him, too-he’s a cuddle, purr, snuggle butt!

Not true at all. I personally know people who have had it. NOTHING like the flu. This stuff is BAD! And the effects linger for months. Your lung tissue dies. If bad enough, you cough up blackened tissue. Many of the deaths are due to a ruptured heart. This stuff is not like the flu.
The reason I wear a mask is because I could be asymptomatic and I do not want to be blood-guilty before God because I needlessly caused the death of another person.

We are not going to have this debate. The purpose of this thread is to keep people informed of the progress on vaccines etc…

I live in the South. It is deer season. It is normal to see a couple of campers and ATVs this time of year. But, the last few days, I have witnessed a parade of hunters heading to the deer camps. Never seen so many. Maybe they are bored and ready to get out of the house but, I doubt it…they are more likely prepping.

I really like Richard Quest. Read the article for the full story.

Couple Covid concerns with a US presidential election that will most likely inspire unrest regardless of the winner (or no winner), and I think you have the answer.

Our hospitals are almost at capacity… and now we are starting to see the first flu deaths of the season… people just don’t seem to understand that many people may not be able to get the health care they need to survive either the flu or covid or any other sickness if they can’t find a bed to put you in and do not have enough personnel or equipment… :weary: Please please please, wear a mask and avoid unnecessary exposure.
