16%…moving along fairly well.
The best percent. Followed by 100.
Somewhere around 68% last I looked…
Should have it by the weekend so. Must restrain myself from going overboard and plastering everything with it on the day.
I see that I really need to get online with the game and pitch in. Tonight, I’ll at least get one mission done.
I plan on using up my 3000 piece base limit with them JK
New base, just a bunch of floor panels with the decal applied in the shape of the logo so you can see it from space…
Perhaps I should pay more attention…
But, the mission paying in QS was ‘build an outpost,’ so…now I have a question.
First off, they sent me right back where I came from, where I already have a base. A very comfortable base on a very nice planet. They wanted an outpost on this planet:
I was not given the opportunity to ask why, and I cannot imagine what lead them to choose such a pit.
But I did my best. I think this at least made for an interesting landmark:
Then they gave me a list of ‘build this many of these,’ which was not anything like what I would normally use. But I did my best with…
A LOT of doors, and no windows?
Three pieces of furniture in a twelve floor panel barn…
And what can kindly be called an eclectic mix of roof pieces. I decline to confirm that at the time I called it ‘random assortment.’
So, here we are. I am now the proud owner of what might be the most useless base in the history of NMS. I didn’t even scan for mining options, because cobalt/copper/rust is singularly unappealing. The question is, do community projects have any kind of…I dunno…lasting effects? Can I just shove this thing back in my pack and fly off?
Yes. You can delete it immediately after achieving success. These missions always leave me laughing. I got one that had me build something like 12 floor panels but only 6 wall panels. I have started having fun with these missions by building the most bizarre things ever, especially since we can tilt pieces…
You’ve never seen any of mine. This thing of yours is high art compared to the hovels I usually build.
It turned out nice enough…but as far as a reason to exist…none.
Planet has useful minerals…nope.
System is wealthy and good for trading…nope.
No fish.
Heck, no air.
Seriously, looking at those two hoopy looking rocks is the biggest attraction on the entire planet.
Meanwhile, we are up to 81%.
Still can’t be sure those hoop eyes don’t belong to a giant cartoon crocodile that’s just waiting for the opportune moment to snap it’s prey. Seems like it let plenty of those moments pass during the build.
Ok, not giant, but a cartoon crocodile that snaps. a lot.
the original that went viral in germany a couple decades ago for some weird reason:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oe3FG4EOgyU
I want to say it might have been Germany’s answer to Crazy Frog but I’m also not sure if Germany had nothing to do with Crazy Frog. Though the more I think about that… thing… The more French it seems to me.
Because the internet can’t get enough of animals and silly songs, I remember this being unescapable for about a month or two…
im just realising now there is a pop song I keep hearing in stores that completely lifted the melody/chord progression from this songs verses. Anyone know what song it is I’m thinking of because I cannot place it… Guess I better go stand around the supermarket until it comes on and then ask a knowing adult.
It could also just be, all Katy Perry/Taylor Swift/WhoeverBeTheCurrentTeenPopIcon songs I’m hearing in my head at once…
The closest match I can think of to the verse melody and chord structure (but not the chorus).
An oldie, but currently revived (the English version features in a Renault advert).
So … Gotta do another community mission tonight, I guess. Old PC and supposedly too-old GTX 960, but it still runs the game.
OK … planetary survey. Now:
