PS Operator ID Files (3D Print + Cut Pattern) [fanart]

Ordered some NFC stickers (NTAG216 with 888 bytes) to put in my card. Should allow me to store a nice amount of data. I also worked on the print to be put behind the cover and I like how that turned out. Will have that printed next time I get to town.

Damn, that is going to look good!

Was wondering if someone would take the NFC plunge. Looking forward to seeing the finished product

I don’t have white, red, black resin.
I don’t even have a 3D printer.
I don’t like plastic.
I have orange, black, white wool though.
And I had Friday off.
Hmmmmmmmm. :smiling_face_with_horns:

You and @MounTheRainbow have the best and most unique Operator IDs.

Fantastic job on the knitting, in awe of your skills

Agree with the praise, but it’s crochet not knitted - needle crafters do get frustrated that they get mixed up so often.

Sorry about that, knitting is a catch-all colloquial term where I’m from. It applies to any textile work involving fabric and needles/hooks, even sewing… I should’ve just gone with "stylin’ textilin’ "

Omg I love it!!!

Incredibly artistic!

Anyone any ideas on what to write to an NFC Tag (NTAG216), looking for some interesting and sort of ‘on-topic’ ideas if possible. Just adding a simple url to open up is not quite my intention. Maybe a short story, documentation, or possibly more interesting automation. Something more unique has my preference to be honest.

A nice piece of ASCII / ANSI art maybe?

From what I gather, it can store about 800 characters?
Would have to keep it kind of small, which is tough, but this looks ok-ish

Edit: Maybe I shouldn’t be using ‘combining’ characters. Acts a bit funky

Yeah, a little limiting - but that looks pretty amazing!

This is better than anything I could have thought of. This gets two thumbs up from me.

My Operator ID result

Got to print the image, for which I bought acetate sheets to cut to size for cover.

I have also added the NTAG216, which was quite a small sticker and really thin. Have not locked the NTAG yet, to allow for changes to the program I add to it.

ASCII art does not work out well, as it relies on the phone’s font and it doesn’t like spacing as a regular text, like we can here within a ‘block comment’ (Monospace too). Currently I added a couple of tasks instead of a single action. It now speaks to me with TTS, greeting me as operator granting me access to the ‘Tower’. It opens up the ‘tower’ video from @sheralmyst in YouTube, while it also opens this forum app. Pretty cool actually.

Only thing left for me to do, is take one of the few lanyards I got, cut off the current strap with advertising, to create my own instead. WIll do this tomorrow I think.

(That brown spot bugs me, but it has been there all this time and sits within the PLA. Not quite sure how that happened, but nothing much I can do about it)

Looks great!
It’s a bummer about the ASCII art, but in the end that sounds like a much more awesome idea anyway, especially the TTS greeting. Love it!

That looks awesome. Been meaning to ask people, how are folks doing the image slideshow? It is so much neater than [grid] or my usual mass spam of individual images

Maybe it’s a beauty spot  Surely makes yours unique. If it really bugs you, a little slap of white paint might do the trick.

The TTS is really cool, but it will only work for phones who have the same app installed to allow for it to access phone features/apps otherwise not available. (NFC Tasks). I had never worked with NFC / NTAGS, so I never realised it would by default be pretty limited. As I learn more about it, I understand how it gets a lot more involved if you really want it to do ‘cool stuff’, especially if you do not wish to pay for it. Still fun though, and who knows I may create something more ‘custom’.
