Hello Operators!
As you probably know from the events the other day in the ARG, or perhaps from the Discord - I have been working on a little community fanart project for 3D printed Operator ID cards.
I have finally finished cleaning it up after the final test print the other day, and put the instructions and cut template together.
Here is how it looks all assembled. (and near some kind of special ancient relic too!)
It also accepts an NFC sticker (such as NTAG) within it’s interior for some fun (not required!).
If you don’t have a 3D printer, or access to a maker-space or library equipped with one, you can use the 1:1 cut sheet (printed 1:1 @ A4) as a pattern to cut/score/bore one by hand with plasticard/card - or to produce a cut file for a CNC cutter (like a Cricut) or CNC router/laser.

Thanks for the files @vector_cmdr. Now I have to try and remember which software I was using for my printer and what config I had set up to get optimal prints… it’s been a few years since I pulled it out.
Maybe I’ll just take it to one of those walk-in 3d print places. I gotta assume we got one of those here. Or maybe if I go to trinity college and ask nicely, mention I’m friends with the Plato bust, they might give me a leg in.
I have a younger brother. He prints parts that cost too much to buy… He has agreed to print me one. He says he doesn’t have the colors. I told him that’s cool. I have paint pens… and paint brushes. Whatever it takes.
I found a place near me that does 3d print runs for business but also personal prints, wether your run is 5000 pieces or just 1. Going to call them in the morning, if the price is fair I’m gonna leave my crappy printer to collect dust and get this done proper

The internet has evolved into a strange and bitter place, those who remember how it was or what it strived to be, have found it again by retreating to old school forums for weirdos with hobbys and interests that don’t devolve to knee jerk reactions. At least that’s what I keep trying to tell my IRL friends who still fall into the reddit bait trap and come away all angry and bored whenever I see them. I swear it’s done something to their brains; the conversations don’t flow like they used to.
If we should ever get to meet on some far off shore, we will all recognize each other with our passes, NMS jackets, tattoos and plushies and anyone carrying a homemade GR3G.
My brother says make sure you have ironing on in settings.

His red and black are translucent so they look sparkly

Yep, definitely use ironing if you have a printer that can achieve a nice finish with it! (I should have for ours, but we were in a rush for the field trip )
There are some recommended settings in the STLs folder for some of the other settings that help with edges and smaller parts as well (like the small black braille pips)
The translucent filament should look cool! I’m curious to see the black in particular. The red I am using is also a slightly translucent one, so it picks up light quite nicely and sort of “brightens up”, especially in the sun.
