Operator Submissions - Post ARG Memorabilia

Hello, Operators!
Now that Project Skyscraper has concluded, I’ve started working on a lil, personal archive of the most important memories we have from the ARG! Of course, as the ARG’s taught us, memories are a complex thing, fragments of emotions much more impactful than just files and documents, but an archive can only hold so much.

As such, I’m requesting all Operators to send in files of their own contributions to the ARG! This can be in any shape or form, from tools / sheets directly involved in puzzle solutions, to Operator fan creations such as Operator @vector_cmdr’s wonderful Operator IDs, to Operator @MounTheRainbow’s beloved GR3G! All contributions, no matter their size or percieved value, are welcome and encouraged, so please send in anything you created for, or during the ARG! :growing_heart:

Currently, I’ve compiled offline, local versions of various tools and trackers created by community members, spreadsheets by @YourBasicMaths and myself, 137 GlitchingReality images across Bluesky and Twitter by Prime-Assigned Operators, the aforementioned creative projects, several images of the first MAIN FAM meetup, and @YourBasicMaths’s beautiful MAIN FAM logo media kit!

The purpose of this lil project is far from being a complete compilation of the ARG as it happened (hell, ETARC and NMScord’s Project Skyscraper are living archives of this!). Instead, its to collect and highlight the various creations and important memories we shared during the ARG in terms of tangible files. The end result of this will be a piece of Memorabilia I’m in the process of working out at the moment, but one I feel is important in the ARG’s context, and the declining state of the industry. Rest assured, once I have a sample down, I’d love to hand them out to MAIN FAM too!

(Apologies if the category isn’t accepting new topics, please feel free to move if so!)

Apologies for the vagueposting, but I’d like to get a sample down before I share too much

This sounds fun! I will sit down and dig thru my files…

If you would for any reason want my eyeball jar pic in original 84.9 KB size, shout. Meanwhile, here’s a shot of the PSS page from my NMS notebook, used to keep track of various iterations, expeditions, etc. and typically consisting of orderly listings of star systems and what to buy/sell there. So I kind of love that these occasional PSS jots are total gibberish. Everything from the Scalzi article I repeatedly submitted (and which did eventually anchor) to initial build ideas for my prime system as well as some notes for renaming expedition critters, which are totally unrelated. Or maybe not. Maybe it’s a clue.

My time chart and glitching reality and the poster I made

I’ll have to go get another pint at the pub in London for old times sake.

In the meantime though, here’s a peak behind the curtain (including when we almost had an Operator travel to Tuscon )

@sheralmyst thank you! These are exactly the kinds of things I was hoping to have on here! I did manage to snag all of your GlitchingReality posts too, but having the original’s always super appreciated! Adding in your awesome chart and analogue-day working too!

@astrosurf66 would love to include your original GlitchingReality too! Love the notebook working haha, its a pretty accurate representation of how all over the place we could be during the ARG

Wait…

We had our glitching reality images physically printed out and pasted on SheralMyst’s wall??!

Exactly what Archie would have done to follow his script and see what some Operators did…

Slight update, but all memes (236, to be exact) from the meme thread have been added to the archive! Ya can’t leave out the soul of the ARG now, can ya?!

Looking for some more cool Operator creations to add in the coming days!

I didn’t see this in the meme thread, but I think it deserves meme consideration. Don’t take my word for it, you can ask @Selfie-Gek

Here’s a little throwback to our lovely AI spambot. We leaders had a backroom topic created specifically for the ‘mute spree’ that happened once Project Skyscraper kicked off. We even started to use a template message to inform users who got caught.

The bot at it again?

Hi <username>,

Staff will look into your ‘silencing’. The automated system tends to be trigger happy as of late. If all is well, your user account should hopefully soon be un-silenced again.
Some tweaks have been made to deal with the bot actions with the increased traffic we have received. We do however continue to monitor this and adjust accordingly.

Sorry about that, we’ll get it sorted.

40 users were inadvertantly silenced, some -ironically- out of pure @discobot envy. One user managed to get caught three times, while another could not speak for exactly one month.
