Project skyscraper / no man's sky arg

ETARC! Rise! Faithful Toddumptious cry,
The gauntlet is cast into the void of night,
Atlas, screeches at the scold of sky,
Stirring the Worlds with deceited spite.

Mother wakes, like a Titan from the deep,
Thrashing, turns the Universe of tides,
Rise Skyscraper! Across No Man’s Sky sacred creep,
Tarry not Travellers, the Wanderer presides.

Found this back in the WT days, playlist from the skyscraper days. Dunno if this was really from Sean, but it’s all cheesy enough to probably be him :joy:

Seeing how I can vibe to all of it, guess I’m cheesy too. Cheese all the way down. …MICE

I still remember the absolute buzz I had when this classified WT document was released

And then it led us to this absolute jam

The record company that own the music have since uploaded it officially to youtube, 7 years ago. One year too late to get our sweet ad revenue clicks :stuck_out_tongue:

I think the forum was quickly flooded with posts and pictures of Mr/Ms Noodles on a magic carpet, if I’m not misremembering.

Here’s me posting it, but I definitely reposted this image from elsewhere on theforum at the time

RIP Ms Noodle <3

After doing a few searches, it seems maybe it was just me posting those pictures… Everywhere. I guess my brain, as a defence mechanism, retroactively convinced me I wasn’t just being silly by myself :joy:

I sometimes look at the gamedetectives wiki and read through the waking titan phases, was so fun to follow.

Looks like this may have been the image used to create the glitched skyscraper:

It is 3133 x 5112 px and if I scale it down to 2400 px width and take the top section to make it 2400 x 2400 px, it fits perfectly:

@DevilinPixy very impressive sleuthing to have found that building! I was looking at @M1Silencer earlier post splitting the RGB colours and while examining the pictures happened to merge the Red and Green, which seem to give more clarity to the corrupted pixellated areas. I don’t know if it helps anyone with spotting any significance to the corruption. Could there be some kind of code to the patterns? On the right there looks like a crude audio wave form but that seems fanciful to me and probably too badly corrupted and blurred to offer any clues.

But anyway here’s a nice picture. I did spot some guy on the 6th balcony, laid back relaxing on a sun lounger, holding a phone or camera or something. I got excited initially thinking it looked like an explorer ship, until I zoomed in. Probably nothing. Unless it is the mastermind behind all this lol.

It appears that the Skyscraper Project account detects and responds to perceived “connection attempts” via specific criteria, such as the number 16, and/or thematic subject matter loosely referencing Atlas/Sky/Space/Geometry.

Could it be waiting for a connection attempt from one of us with the right combination of info? I tagged the account in a post with the number 16, written sixteen times in a hail mary test to see if there is any response.

Update, speculation: are the website security logs posted whenever the Project Skyscraper account re-posts someone with a “Connection detected : Access denied”?

Indeed, well spotted. I am more and more intrigued by the level of planning that’s gone into this.

Welcome to the forum, @silentmomentsfelt . Things are a bit chaotic here at the moment - after a week of nobody being interested, suddenly everyone seems to have realised something interesting may be going on.

So are we - but even if it’s fan-made, as long as it’s well done, we’re running with it. So far, whoever made it has displayed a great deal of planning and preparation - and that suggests they know what they’re doing.

Have fun.

I think that the platform they are hosted on is doing the conversion. I grabbed the image using curl with out any “Accept: …,image/webp,…” header and I got the original jpeg. Still I didn’t find anything interesting. No metadata (could be stripped by wordpress). No obvious embedded strings. Basic forensics didn’t show anything (that I understood) either. Error level, noise, luminance gradents, etc. I once read that you could detect edits by analyzing the DCT values, but I doubt that an ARG would hide their clues that far down. I think I should look for a different rabbit hole to climb into.

I’m sure someone has, but back on the quote, has someone looked into Wallace Stevens? Didn’t know if anything can be found that has something to do with this.

I saw his picture on the quote page, but he passed before the first memory
