I’m probably the unluckiest one here, I’ve been getting crashes on loading in and couldn’t check anything out, hoping to wake up to an experimental with some sorta fix :sweat_smile:

So the new mission triggered on Deck but will not start for me on my Steam file…maybe because I jumped the gun (as usual) and warped straight to an outlaw controlled system

I don’t know if this works in settlements, but twice I was at a minor settlement when they came under attack. I was busy trading so I ran inside and went about my business. After about 3 attack runs, the pirates left. So you may be able to evade them by hiding inside.
A word of caution, it seems that once you engage in a planet side battle, you cannot land until you have destroyed all enemies. You can, however, flee to the Space Station

Makes sense. When my base got attacked I just went through the base portal to a station, sold some stuff, and when I went back to my base the pirates were gone (thank heavens). I hope I’m always that lucky.

I wonder if this is going to be a permanent feature from now on, since so much work has gone into it…

This is in the latest experimental patch so just hold 'em off for a few more seconds, help is on the way

  • Pirates will no longer attack players who are underground, underwater, or in their own base.
  • Pirates no longer attack planets in low conflict systems.

Just died twice running the expedition on steam deck. The 2nd death was from above while desperately looking for the coveted copper. Pirates swooped in and took me down in just a few shots.

I haven’t been in the game since the pirate attack on my base. Once that patch goes live Mal and I are going to try expedition 6.
