Version 6.1.1

  • Fixed the appearance of the Aeron Winglets (B_STR_AA) and their listings within the part drawer.
  • The mirror tool has been generalised and can be used for all parts. Non-Corvette parts work best that have local symmetry (like walls, etc).
  • Fixed an issue where the camera focus action (F key) would pull the camera out too far.
  • Fixed an issue where focus-all action (A key) was not working.

  • Every 5 minutes will now trigger an autosave to help mitigate unexpected crashes.
  • Fixed an issue where the corvette “_Y_NE” parts were not being listed in their respective variants panel in the part drawer.
  • Collapsed L/R corvette connector pieces into one item with the variants sub-window in the part drawer.
  • Fixed naming of variants for the Atlas Corvette parts.

  • Improved the search responsiveness on the Asset Browser.
  • Part variant’s have been removed from the Asset Browser and are now accessed from a sub-menu from their relevant “parent” part in the Asset Browser.
  • Added the “Mirror Across X Axis” tool.
  • All parts can now be mirrored by the mirror tools, non corvette parts use a rotation based mirror that works best for locally symmetrical parts (walls, etc)

  • Ported add-on structure to newer Blender extension structure.
  • Removed YAML as a Python dependency as it’s no longer used.

NMS Base Builder - Blender Plugin :link:

Version 6.1.3

  • It is no longer required to install Python in order to use the Asset Browser tool.
  • The tool now uses the Python installation that is part of Blender itself.
  • Using the Asset Browser should now be a lot more stable to use for users setting things up for the first time.
  • Existing users can remove their Python installation if they were only using it for this tool.
  • There is still a small wait on the Asset Browser’s first-time load as things initialize.
  • Added a Guides button to the tool.

Version 6.1.4

  • It is no longer required to installed bpy_external for the Asset Browser to work. All you need is Blender and the zip - and you should be good to go!
  • Visual refresh to the Asset Browser which improves readability and consistency with the Base App.
  • Added connection point data to the Corvette Mini Teleporter.

A small update from DjMonkey

Both Blender and my Python skills have somewhat improved since I created the Blender add-on back in… (checks notes…) 2019!

I’ve been stripping back the dependencies required for it to function. With 6.1.3 version earlier this month you didn’t need to install a separate Python installation, and now, with todays update - 6.1.4 - you no longer need to install the bpy_externall add-on.

This means the zip alone should be enough for the add-on, including the Asset Browser to function. Which should hopefully improve setup and mitigate the problems people still continually face when trying to get things set up correctly.

I also spent some time doing a visual refresh to make things more consistent with the standalone application and improving legibility, and I also did a small fix adding the connection points to the corvette teleporters.

  • Updated the colour options to allow users to use colours from a variety of material palettes.
  • Added a button only export the objects of the base to the user clipboard.
  • Re-processed meshes for STORAGEPANEL and BUILDFLATPANEL.
  • Fixed an issue where the Asset Browser would not load on Linux.
  • Fixed an issue where the Asset Browser tabs would be squashed and not be scrollable on Mac.
  • Fixed a mesh placement issue with the B_STR_U corvette pieces.

An update to the App with the relevant changes will come a bit later.

    • Added a new Materials & Colours Panel to be used to explore and apply colours frame the variety of palettes.
    • Item property details now displays the Material and Colour currently applied to it.
    • Applying a colour should also retain any pre-existing UserData settings (e.g switches, batteries, etc)
    • Re-processed meshes for STORAGEPANEL and BUILDFLATPANEL.
    • Fixed a mesh placement issue with the B_STR_U corvette pieces.
    • Tweaked the layout and options in the File Menu
    • Added a “Support Me” button to the file menu which takes the user to a dedicate page on my website.

Small update to both No Man’s Sky Blender and App

  • Added Freighter colour palette to the new colour+material options.
  • For both tools, applying colours this way should no longer override pre-existing UserData values, like logic switches, etc.
  • For Blender: Colour and Material information is now displayed on the objects Custom Properties list. This is only for display and readability purposes, changing them does not effect anything.
