lol I was typing on my phone in a hurry :joy: spellcheck

Speaking of which, does Gemini AI assistant control spellcheck?
I can tell spellcheck is ā€˜learning’ words I text often. I use a lot of acronyms to save time. Only the person I am texting knows what I am referring to because these are made up by us due to frequent use. But, spellcheck/word suggestion, is now anticipating them.
I also use some made up words that combine thoughts as well as southern slang. None of which is found in any dictionary and these words are slowly being accepted as legit. For a time, the system tries to correct me and changes what I type when I hit space. However, after a while of correcting the system back, it finally accepts the new jargon.
I have even noticed a few occassions where the word it changes to is not a word at all and not one I have invented. I wonder where those non-words come from…

Is it just me or is Bernie the only one calling them out at every turn? I only see clips of him grilling them in Congress etc and now he does these weekly/daily addresses too.

Bernie’s got a huge following outside of America, which is very rare for an American politician. It means he’s doing the right thing, or at least tries to.

I do have bias for a cute old man that fights for equity, our president is one, so I might have blinders for Bernie but I’m pretty sure he’s legit as they come.

Bernie is definitely a standout kind of guy. He has a huge following here too. Gotta give him kudos for keeping on.

I have to believe there’s a timeline where he was the chosen candidate over Hilary and everything is going super well, they even put the two term limit aside for him because he did such a good job :stuck_out_tongue:

I very much want America to have a female president some day but sacrificing Bernie for the cause of looking cool and progressive on the world stage was a massive misstep :see_no_evil:

To make things even more weird, let’s consider this;
The VP has had a falling out with the Pope. The Pope is not doing well. Double pneumonia with only a lung and a half. The church has a huge lobbying presence here. I just read an article about the rite following the death of a Pope. And I was a bit amazed to learn that even though the last 700 years has seen a new Pope chosen from the College of Cardinals, in theory, the pope can be any male roman catholic…which the VP is.
All cardinals are physically locked into the Sistine Chapel until a 2/3 majority is chosen and then all ballots are burned
The Pope has already warned the election of the next Pope will be very, very political.
Don’t burn me at the stake.
But we live in weird and troubling times.

Okay I actually thought trump dying of the Old, and JD vance becoming acting president was worst case scenario…

But becoming pope. He really is fuckin Damian isn’t he? All hail the antichrist, JD freaking Vance :face_with_peeking_eye: (on my phone it’s covering with both hands and peeking through one finger. On this site it becomes the Pulp Fiction dance)

Some time ago, I said that you can tell when Trump is going to do something unethical or criminal - because he accuses his opponents of it first. Well now he’s called Zelensky a dictator.

Yes. And claims his approval rating is way down and claims he won’t have fair elections and blames Zelensky for starting the war.
Surreal doesn’t seem a strong enough word.
He demanded half of Ukraine’s rare earth minerals in exchange for continued aid. Zelensky told him to jump off a cliff. This is Trump’s response.
World leaders are starting to realize, Trump blows hard. Give him anything in return and he backs off. Give him nothing…we are about to see what Trump does in return.

Europe is a house divided against itself. All over the continent, governments are struggling with right-wing factions and mad nationalist / separatist groups.

Talks aimed at a cohesive response to Trump and Putin collapsed in internal squabbling.

I suspect a new alignment may come out of this. I think the UK, France, and Poland are up for a fight. I think Germany could probably be persuaded. The Scandinavian countries might be persuaded, but their armed forces are few. Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia have skin in the game, and are scared to death - but again their military contribution would be minimal.

The rest of Europe will pout and whinge, take the easy way out, and accept whatever the bully leaves them.

Oh that’s where the internet / code archaeologist comes from! I also think this could become a cool job. :grinning:

Well, only if we manage to store the data… the only thing today’s archaeologists get to work with are stone and clay and small amounts of papyrus (and everything else was forgotten). All our current digital data storage is even more short-term compared to that.

Speaking of which, I had this troll thought: Give DOGE employees honeypot accounts. :smiling_imp: An account that looks like it has access to everything but its Delete buttons just hide the entry and log the deletion attempt.

They have an alignment under their noses. They just have not figured out how to use it. But they may. There is talk of it. They just need to supply the agent with power that matters. It is called the United Nations.

I don’t see any meaningful UN response without the approval of the U.S. or Russia - and I imagine China would side with Russia, too. Various other countries, some of them significant, have economically aligned themselves with Russia and/or China.

The UN needs to be disbanded and immediately rechartered. Under the current charter the five permanent members of the security council are completely unfettered, including that they have unilateral power to block any change to the charter, they cannot have their permanent security council position challenged, and they cannot be expelled. Trump is such a daft idiot that there may be hope he would withdraw the US from the UN, but Putin is smart so Russia would remain completely unmanageable.

When I think of trump and the UN I can’t help but think of Ralph Wiggum…

Any action by the UN has to, according to their charter, be approved by BOTH Russia and the US, along with France, China, and the UK. If any one of those says no, the entire rest of the UN can be in agreement and it makes no difference at all.

And that is what the talk is all about at the UN. A need to completely reform both the way it works and the way it handles the money needed to do what they need to do. So who knows…

If Trump is suggesting someone else has taken the gold, that means he intends to.

At this point, I can no longer say, that’s crazy.
