New files extracted from the satcom site!

Yes, I was watching and zooming in and out of the Satcom Site the other night and noticed the Logo and the Uplink app. This morning your comment prompted me to go the IOS App Store and search for Uplink. The app description and short intro video looks like it may be part of the ARG. I’ll try to post photos and links, if someone else doesn’t.

I’m having to re-track my steps. I thought I went to the Apple App Store. However, it looks like if you do a simple Google Search for Uplink App it will show up in the search.

The description of the app itself seems like it could be part of the ARG. Then, when you click on the Developer website there is a short video that could play a part according to what I’ve read on the WT Game Detectives. Or, I could be completely off.

Edit: click link to play the video

Here’s some of the description:

Uplink

High tech computer crime and corporate espionage
on the Internet of 2010You play an Uplink Agent who makes a living by performing jobs for major corporations. Your tasks involve hacking into rival computer systems, stealing research data, sabotaging other companies, laundering money, erasing evidence, or framing innocent people.

You use the money you earn to upgrade your computer systems, and to buy new software and tools. As your experience level increases you find more dangerous and profitable missions become available. You can speculate on a fully working stock market (and even influence its outcome). You can modify peoples academic or criminal records. You can divert money from bank transfers into your own accounts. You can even take part in the construction of the most deadly computer virus ever designed.

Anything to do with anything?

Sounds fun even if it is not involved :sunglasses:

That is probably for actual satellite rental. I had a cousin in Ecuador for a number of years. She could not get internet because she was not a citizen. She had to rent space on a satellite so she could conduct business. Cost about $500 a month. Which was ok because living in Ecuador is very inexpensive.

My interest was piqued when they said they were based in Canada, (like A&S) but it looks like v1 of the app was released over a year ago. Oh well.

Uplink app is only available for iPad and android and costs £8.99(iPad)

If it costs money it will not be a part of the ARG

This is the Source of the Myriad Dashboard site, refs to Facebook and iTunes, don;t know if this standard within web pages or not.

If I am not mistaken, there are two red dots moving around a central point on the satcom-70 site.

Uplink is a long standing hacking simulation game that has nothing to do with the ARG. I’ve had it installed on my home tablet for years and even longer on my PC. It’s nothing.

Looks like the red dots intersect at Shengyang, China.

The text on the right talks about fonts, you can make out the words, Sans Serif and Helevtica.

Giant Red Orb headed toward you people ‘across the pond’. Be on the look-out for any strange phenomena from the sky! :scream:

It maybe a “shadow area” outside of Myriad satellite coverage… Or the very opposite; the area of maximum reception.

The RAF must have shot Atlas out of the sky. It is gone!

Well, darn it! I wonder how this part of the ARG will work. I have to say I really like this site. All the moving dots and the changing numbers. Feels kinda ‘real’ in a way.
