Should those who cannot see the light be blinded for their own safety? Nah. Believe in free will and choice or else we are all doomed. let them be consumed by the ghost riders if they don’t make their choice before its too late too late too late…

way way way back, I sat inside a Sherman tank and listened to Pink Floyd. It was then I made the connection between their music and growing up in post WW2 Britain. It was a moment.
Pink Floyd were mostly a London-based band in the 1960s, and I didn’t get to see them in those days - though I had the albums. I did manage to see them live on the promotional tour for Dark Side of the Moon at Liverpool Empire in 1972. They finished up with “Echoes”, which has always been my favourite.

A puzzle for Floyd sleuths:
In 1968 there was a UK children’s TV series called “The Tyrant King”. The music for the show was provided by various progressive bands, but the title theme, which included the words “The Tyrant King” in a stage whisper, with echo, was supposedly recorded by Pink Floyd in the Whispering Gallery of St Paul’s Cathedral..
Modern references suggest the theme music was “The Thoughts of Emerlist Davjack” by The Nice - which it definitely wasn’t. However, I have been unable to find any modern reference to the Pink Floyd recording.
After all these years, I’d love to know.

In the 1960s, things were much more relaxed. Organising things on a business model was actually frowned upon. Pink Floyd, and the individual members, involved themselves in all manner of side-projects and diversions, many of which were not officially documented. Their collaborations with Ron Geesin, for instance, were legendarily messy.
The band were constantly writing new songs, most of which were tried out in live performance, but were never recorded in their original form or under their original title. An entire double concept album, “The Man and The Journey” was lost in this way.
Just because a Pink Floyd performance doesn’t feature in official records, doesn’t mean they didn’t do it.
the famous “absence of evidence is not evidence of absence” takes all it’s meaning in this situation.
And I didn’t suggest you did. As my previous post makes clear, I have been following Pink Floyd since the 1960s. On several occasions I have attempted to collect a complete corpus of their work - but I’ve found my task frustrated by the lack of accurate records, coupled with the vague and casual attitudes of the band members themselves. This difficulty is compounded by the fact that two of the founder members are now dead. Enough information has survived for us to be certain the band were at times involved in things we don’t now know much about.

My parents are deadheads. I was raised on the Grateful Dead. My middle name is after Jerry Garcia.
I got really into goth music - proper goth music, Bauhaus and Siouxsie and most of all Rozz Williams - in my teenage years. Then I discovered psychologically symbiotic fungus, and before long I was a deadhead as well.
Then I got into the rave scene and formed a Pavlovian serotonin release response to female vocal trance (if you know, you know). ATB, Dash Berlin, and Kaskade were probably my top artists in that era, but there were tons.
Took me years before I actually saw the remaining members of the Dead in concert though, until I was like 21 or 22 maybe? Dead & Company. Kia Forum (or was it Dodger Stadium?) and Oracle Park '23 were magic. There is nowhere on earth like Shakedown - proper Shakedowns, not like the ones at Vegas or GD60. Being properly attuned to the wavelength of the crowd, sitting in Oracle Park, was the first time I felt like a member of a large-scale community in my entire life. I was 27.
I belong with the deadheads in a spiritual sense, those are my people. But musically I’m into anything with good lyrics really. MGMT, Pink Floyd, Bob Dylan, Quicksilver Messenger Service, Immortal Technique, Paris Texas. Very big into Jesse Welles and King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard over the last few years, and Night Tapes hits that female vocal trance part of my brain despite probably not technically being in that genre. The new Modest Mouse album is great too, they’re always great.
I also listened to a lot of Bones when I was commuting a lot for work in my early 20’s. Commuting makes me too angry to listen to nice hippie music lmao.
Anyway, back to the Dead, I bought a Cadillac Deville Hearse that I’ve converted into a camper. I’m currently painting it in psychedelic hippie bus style. One big 13-point Grateful Dead lightning bolt on each side, under the Landau bar (that S-shaped thing on hearses). Plus constellations representing the core 4 (Jerry, Bob, Phil, and Mickey). That’s actually why I’ve been less active on NMS, and on this forum, over the last month or two - I discovered mice in the engine (which thankfully seem to have done no damage) and have been trying to rush to finish the mural. That and the unpleasant task of getting rid of the rats living nearby, which I’m certain would damage the engine since they chew entire branches off the trees they live in.
So there’s a wall of text no one asked for! Bringing up the Dead - especially in NMS spaces - tends to have that effect on me, what can I say…

Well this confirms it, that Anime Music inspired album she mentioned 2 years ago is definitely happening.
“GVA!!!” is my dedication to anime, such a great art form. Growing up, I knew a couple of movies like “Ghost In The Shell” and “Vampire Hunter D,” and when I was reintroduced to anime through “Naruto,” a spark hit me. I got into a lot more shows like “Initial D,” “Bleach,” “Rurouni Kenshin,” “Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood,” “Attack On Titan,” and “Jojo’s Bizarre Adventures.” The inspiration I felt was like being turned inside out, like some dormant dreams could awaken in a really fun and creative way. It was great to feel driven like this instead of getting pulverized by the world’s increasing grayness. Of course this would come out in my music and in a twisted kind of way. So “GVA!!!” is an energetic, rocking, colorful record through which I hope to bring a sense of ignition to people’s souls who hear it.

Here’s a bunch of Splatoon OST that I rediscovered recently! Played this waayyyyy too much as a kid. That lil gremlin of a human being knew what’s up though, it goes hard. Anyway, we’ll see whether any of these links stay up or if Nintendo takes them down because I hate them. : )
been keeping up with this game for a while! still yet to play it, but honestly the trailer that used this song sold me on the game, and every little thing I’ve heard about the game since is slowly but surely progressing me to a point where I am willing to rob a bank, transport the stolen money into the dev’s offices, break into said office, and slam the money onto the nearest desk, before offering my life as a sacrifice.
It go hard. The entire Risk of Rain soundtrack goes hard. These are just 3 of my favorites (hopefully not too basic of a selection for any of you that actually have played the game :3)

I LOVE ARMORED CORE SO MUCH OMG. The soundtrack is amazing and the games are amazing. If you see a mech and your primary urge isn’t to pilot it, you cannot be trusted. All hail the steel towers of destruction moving at mach 5! :3
