MINI ARG Discussion and Speculation

Hmmm… Nada, void… never noticed the potential closeness of meaning here, at least in some languages. Nada for me always had a very positive connotation, as in southern slavic tongues it means “hope” (in fact, it can be used as a female name, just as hope is in english, though it’s pretty rare). But in Spanish, the meaning of the two would be closely related. Not closely enough to be synomious, though.

Nada, and void has me also thinking of Null. I seem to recall a recent lore addition bringing Null back up in some way. But can’t remember in what context exactly. I’ll go searching but first… I need more buried tech modules :man_zombie:

Well, at least to a programmer, Null and Void aren’t the same thing at all:joy:

They are stretching the definition of an ARG I think. Their definition seems to be anything that uses codes like binary and ASCII. Really, an ARG is supposed to blend real life and online participation, but it is possible HG plans to do that as well later.

Sean Murray discussed how he studied computer engineering and in his first job playing or making computer games was seen as “kids stuff”, it was like a secret he hid from work collegues. It’s no surprise really that there would be so many references to coding in the game, so they probably do mean it as you said XD

I would be very surprised to see another ARG on the scale of Waking Titan. I would be even more surprised if Alice & Smith were involved.

The game notes said “ARG clues” - and I think that’s what we got.

I’m way more interested in each of the Seeds that Atlas gives us, I want to know what happens if I run them in a Spectrogram as well as the final message Atlas gives when we meet it for the fifth time. That cannot be a coincidence.

They do indeed say something in the spectrogram “She sees through their eyes”

Oooo, thanks. What about Atlas’ final message?

Resharing this here

This might be more significant than the other Hex Pieces, since as far as I’m aware, the bit of the LOC-ID which presents this code isnt exactly datamine-able? I’ve done a scan of the main MBIN files for the that piece of text but I haven’t seen it anywhere.

EDIT: Yea it looks like the variable holding this bit of dialogue is internal only and isn’t visible in the MBIN files. We’ll just have to document it all

They found your cryptonite bomber boy! Gadzooks!

I’ve also noticed the progress for tier 2 is flying along. Nearly 100% in less than 24 hours.

I’m guessing they stuck the multiplier on to make up for the first four days downtime due to launch hiccups on other platforms and then servers been unaccessible from steam all weekend.

It was also the same day when big community players spread the word out that community progression is real and the timer/date is a failsafe deadline, so I wonder how much that had an effect on how quick seeds were delivered yesterday too.

Friday/Saturday my memory of nexus chatter was a lot of bemoaning and “I’ll just go play star citizen it doesn’t fake timers” etc and yesterday I noticed there was no complaints.

I have noticed a lot of nice water cooler talk around terminal prime which is new for me for an expedition, I don’t recall seeing much of this even in regular nexus activity.

People just standing around, handing in seeds, discussing their adventures in this sim or the next, lots of people talking star field. Was nice to see and certainly a rarity.

So I have a feeling the arg clues that point us to stuff and clues outside the game might not come until the end, the ARG stuff might be something to keep us tied over between arcs.

If it even gets to that scale. It could just be data mining with extra flair in the end that teases content and no big world wide puzzles to solve. But they did say ARG… So let’s wait and see.

Haha, I might have a few unorthodox tricks up my sleeve for it :stuck_out_tongue:

It worked! I’ll be posting the results on the datamined topic.

Nice one. I can stop eyeing the percentage now I guess XD Saw it was at 95% and thought I’d sit with it for a bit.

Tier 3 - Message Change -

we long to return. we will rebuild ourselves

Thanks BomberBoi, this time I just had to paste my image in and skip the translation

Someone has begun spreading New Atlantid flyers around on my Freighter. I have my suspicions but no solid evidence.

I’ve just stopped answering the door to them but they still shove the damn things in through the letterbox.

I was thinking about the reward we get for completing the community milestone.

16x Korvax words.

When I first saw it I thought it was a weird one, then when I saw it was for completing a community event over many days, I thought it was an even stranger reward. Outside the 16 reference and Korvax being a convergence like the one we are creating, I wonder if theres more to it than just getting 16 words.

It might not be a bad idea to keep an eye on what those words are when we get them, just in case they make an actual sentence for us to read  A datamining proof message perhaps? @ThatBomberBoi or do you have more tricks up your sleeve?

Nothing special that I can tell, just 16 ‘Explorer’ words being taught the regular way, in the MISC category. I had a same idea about the Atlas Stations and the words we get there, but appears default as well from what I saw.

Well I’ll make my own sentence anyway. With blackjack. And, ah forget the whole idea!

It’s all this seed collecting that has my mind wandering XD

It’s nice though, I’m picking up tech modules as I go, and because I’m setting off from the same starting point each session, I end up coming across the same autophages (already solved and looted so i know i was there in a prior session) and noticing theres new buildings in the area just a hop, skip and a mech leap away for me to explore each day as more Interlopers arrive at Useling.

Previous expeditions I stormed through them, enjoying the unique playstyle the theme brought with it. So this is a fresh experience, watching the world populate over a period of days <3 I didnt even get that with Utopia because I did it in 4-6 hours

Ah, I didnt even get any Atlas words from the stations, thought maybe was turned off for EXP10. The little ground orbs? Other players must have used up their instance before I landed I guess

Fire them all and hire scabs, it’s the only way to stop your employees from unionizing.
