Melody of the egg : new arc?

As of yet, I have not really found anything related to triggering this event within the metadata tables for all kinds of missions and whatnot. It does appear to be related to the Void Egg(s), which is described as follows:

An anomalous egg. The shell is tough and leathery, and twitches when touched.
A faint tapping can be heard coming from within. From time to time, it appears to sing.

Clearly something is bound to hatch somewhere …

Nothing goes unnoticed by those who wish to know. It is not that hard to dive into the source and do some comparisons to find any changes. I am sure HG is well aware of this, so I doubt ‘hate’ is the correct word.

Perhaps timezone may have to do with it?

Northward bound! I have done that for fun. FIND US WHERE NORTH REACHES ITS PEAK… You can find the north pole. Just fly N until your compass switches to S

Ok, so we have an address, a planet (which should presumably be identifiable when you’re in the right system), and a location on that planet.

We can probably figure out the right place, the question remains what the right time is.

It would still have been too early for february…

Summary So Far

We have had one report of messages triggering (probably incorrectly) in January.

The dates in @DevilinPixy’s evidence seem to suggest that we should have had February’s messages triggering by now. I haven’t seen any, and I’m not aware of reports of other people doing so.

The best information we have suggests that the code triggered when it shouldn’t, and is now not triggering when it should.

The information found by @SailorMamahed, and completed by @DevilinPixy indicates the portal address of a system in Euclid. The most obvious interpretation of the portal clues leads to the address:

NOTE - OTHER INTERPRETATIONS ARE POSSIBLE - TRY THEM! (If you do try other portal addresses, it would be a great help if you would post the details here - the portal address you used, and what you found when you got there)

The information also seems to suggest that the North Pole of a water world is important.

I have visited the system indicated in the portal address above. The portal planet has significant areas of water.

I have visited the North poles of all 5 planets in the system. So far, I haven’t found anything of interest.

It’s possible I have the portal address wrong. I would love to hear from people who’ve tried different ones.
It’s also possible that whatever we’re looking for isn’t there yet, and needs to be triggered by some other event.

A more worrying possibility is that the quest is bugged, and that’s why it triggered early, and isn’t triggering now. There’s nothing we users can do about that.

Oh well. Back to investigating…

Hmmm, but the 1st glyph indicates portal 6, which means it should be a max satellite (planets/moons) system?

Nope. 5 planets, no moons.

From the new text Devilin gave us, it sounds like this might be adding pets that can go everywhere with us.

Already discovered on ps4

@dersvr: HelloGamesP?

@Polyphemus: I guess I was wrong about assuming the 1st glyph to match planet number. I just went there (nice comm ball btw) and requested the glyphs. It does indeed start with the ‘balloon’. Discovered by Waldo3000 on PC.

Oh wow, which portal address did you use to get there?

the one @Polyphemus posted.

Is that on PC, PS4 or XBOX?

Yeah, I noticed that, too. Also look at the discovery date - 20th January. Before any of this was known to us mere mortals.

I suspect we’ve got the right place.

We might be, or we just follow the trails of others searching. Waldo3000 is a well known NMS player and pretty active on Reddit. Just checked discovery date, which says ‘today’… right!
