(PC is 99%)
We don’t know for sure, but we see that we will be able to buy a special item on the Anomaly, and assume that will trigger the start of a mission.
PS: People are sitting on top of the nexus waiting.
PPS: Playstationeers are reporting: nothing is happening, and they want us other platforms to hurry up.

Ready and waiting! (PC)
Irritating that people are showing up and waiting but not doing the daily mission. That is what moves us toward 100%. Get off your duffs people! Go to work! 
UPDATE: I have 3 Void Eggs in my possession…what to do next? No idea.

CAUTION: travelling directly to the suspected system may bypass story line
OMG! It’s happening! Travelled to the egg system we are watching. Message incoming!
Appears this message will trigger after travelling to another system. (CAUTION Travelling straight to the suspected system may bypass the the story line) I met another traveller who used the portal. I went by ship. We both triggered the message. However, nothing appears in the Log.
Perhaps we have to unlock the other egg before we get a mission log?
Note: the message re-triggers when I re-enter the system.

If you went to the system that we guessed, does that mean you skipped the part where you get hints? I travelled to other systems with the egg (by ship) and haven’t seen any message yet.

I believe you do have to travel to the suspected system.
Report any findings here. Travel other places and then we can compare notes.
It may be @Polyphemus is correct and the portal address will be gradually revealed.
And that makes me wonder, will we get 1 glyph per day?
At any rate, there is nothing yet at the suspected site on the planet.
And the message re-triggers when re-entering the system

At two systems I visited at random, I got a popup on arrival, the same that you get when you harvest asteroids: But it was red and looked broken, and said “hermetic seal gold nugget”. Which makes no sense. I try to grab a screenshot but it looks more like a bug than a hint.
PS: Even S-class hermetic seal gold nugget!!! rofl…Bugs of the highest class.

Yes. This is a known issue. Happens quite a bit. Used to be Big Balls, 
Now it is various items, usually Hermetic Seal for me.
Update: I sacrificed one for the sake of knowledge. Sold it at a terminal. No trigger, lol.

Here is the proof needed that we have the correct system. (Unless HG is onto us and decides to change the glyphs at the last moment) It seems this message only triggers in that system.

I flew zigzag and explored random star systems for a while and nothing happened. Fed some anomalous animals and they pooped at me. Poked a lone humming egg on an empty planet. Once the communicator beeped when I arrived in the middle of a freighter battle and I did not respond but escaped. (I hope freighter battles don’t clash with the mission messsage?)
A while later I returned to one of my bases and then the mission triggered. It started with “SIX”. Are they out of order or did I miss five others?

Ok. You just need to go to the abandoned building nearby. It is going to be hard to mark it on pc because someone built a base on it. And it did not show for me. Took forever to find it
Here is what you are looking for: coordinates included since it is not exactly at where N changes
You can choose to fly around and trigger the countdown and glyph collection or you can head straight to the system. Both work.
