May 30 2026 - Security Log / Password

After the H Mobius Loop hint, I tried Emily and EMILY. They did not work. So it definitely wasn’t working yesterday.

Same here, I tried all capitalization variations of several phrases that seemed possible. Emily (or rather EMILY I guess) had been one of the first things I tried at every puzzle. xD

It’s tough to know if this was temporally time-gated or if it was awaiting for the password from a specific operator.

I’m guessing the solution was locked until we had worked out the reason for why it could be EMILY?

Very funny if that’s the case. It basically happened exactly as the Architect sent out new hints. We shall continue to fuzz!

The UPPER case  … I’ll see myself out

I actually worked in a letter press museum for 5 years, I can give you the spiehl on the origin of the terms upper and lower case, but I won’t waste anyones time :stuck_out_tongue:

I also tried Emily. It was the very first thing I tried.

So it turns out the solution was shifted, as @YourBasicMaths came to conclude too. However, instead of a shift of one square (1 bit) that lead to EMILZ and a password guess, it turns out @vector_cmdr found this to be a 2 square shift (2 bits) to the right, to actually get to EMILY.

See a copy of response from @vector_cmdr in NMS Discord below:

@pr1sm Has also been able to confirm this last night.

Here is a visual representation I made to show this shift:

Being all caps makes sense for the value you get from the 8 bits converted to ascii.

Is that what is being asked for here?

If you refer to the ‘bit offset’, I would say yes, that appeared to be a hint at this shift above.

And so the password did not work until the reason for the solution was given. The architect must do a lot of reading.

It’s possible that the image “repair” relationship between connection/fragment was a subtle hint to look at it also that we didn’t quite get to fast enough.

I have updated the top post with a rundown solution.

Awesome explanation! In my haste and excitement, I counted the offset wrong with my crossed eyes :joy:

Also in my haste, I recorded the last line of binary wrong, swapping the final two digits.

(the image I was working with swaps dark for light. I’m weird)
