Life's Painful Moments

Just realized I have been a whole month without a good cuppa…no wonder I feel disconnected from reality. Now wondering why I did not bring my own…what is this stuff?

I wonder how long it has been here?

Okay. Found a review online: one of the largest privately-owned companies in the US, but is largely a “behind-the-scenes” company that does not have widespread recognition by the general public.

Rituals is unaffiliated with the Ritual Tea Company , a small tea company based in New Zealand.

Ahhhh…think I will pass.

There is no such thing as bad tea. There is good tea, there is less-good tea, and there’s so-so tea.

Bad tea is an oxymoron.

Having said which, if there were such a thing as bad tea, it would be Liptons.

True. But there is such a thing as old tea. I have no idea how long this stuff has been here.
As for Lipton, well, the instant stuff is an absolute NO!
The brewed stuff, once cold, with lots of sugar, but not too much, is a southern staple. Since I do enjoy a good cup of hot tea, I do understand why some dislike southern tea so much. It is a very different kind of experience.

A few years ago, I stayed in a hotel in Budapest. In the pre-communist days, the place had obviously been very grand indeed. Parts of it still were.

At breakfast, I asked for tea. I was offered a selection - they had Lapsang Souchong, Earl Grey, and blackcurrant tea. They had Kee Mun, peppermint, and Roobush. They had Chamomile, Oolong, and Assam. They had vegan horse-apple and rabbit dropping tea. But no ordinary black tea.

There followed a fairly complex discussion, in which I tried to explain what I wanted. The waitress, however, was clearly of the opinion that if I could afford to stay in that hotel, then I must be rich. And if I was rich, then I shouldn’t be drinking the same tea that common Hungarian people did. I should be drinking the sophisticated stuff (I should point out that by British standards I’m not rich - but by Hungarian standards of the day, maybe I was).

Eventually I persuaded her to make me a pot of tea from the supply in the staff canteen. It was very pleasant - just what I wanted. But I’m sure the waitress thought I was some kind of class traitor.

Tea is a big deal. We all know it can start wars and divide Empires.

It is looking like we will be leaving here Monday. I will get my tea, but it seems I won’t be getting another quesadilla…oh well, at least we will be home.

Waiting for Home Health to bring our meds and show us how to use them. Should be home before dark…I think I might have one of the biggest cries ever when I get home. :sob:

Something I salvaged…

Delicious! So good to be home. Now comes a slew of check-ups, dealing with home health, and a stack of things left undone…but, I have a good cuppa and my lonely kitty warming my lap. Mostly though, I have my daughter sitting at her PC laughing like usual with her brother over some YouTube nonsense. I think I might sleep tonight. Tomorrow can wait until tomorrow.
Thanks everyone for your support. :revolving_hearts:

Just a word of CAUTION … if you ever have a picc line, do not let anyone draw blood from it while it is in use! This seems like a no-brainer to me. I was not in the room when it happened. Furious when I found out. What do you expect to draw while antibiotic is pumping in? The results were all wonky. Dr’s started phoning and ordered us to the ER. I explained what happened and they all rolled their eyes and uttered a few things under their breath. Got a good lab draw and all is normal. PICC comes out next week…hopefully the wait won’t kill me,

Well I know I have said it before but this time I am back properly. All systems on line and no nasty bugs anywhere.
I have a twitter account now. Lynda_Art_Write. Have been looking at many pics on there and will add some of mine next week.
Feel I’ve missed so much.
best to all.

Just been reading the post here… @sheralmyst what a roller coaster ride you and your daughter have been on. I truly feel for you both knowing as I do the pain and fear that comes with any illness needing hospital treatment. That out of control thing is difficult to cope with. Waiting for others to decide what happens next… horrid. Sending hugs… x

Took our first outing. Ate at Threefold Noodles and Dumpling Co. Epic fail with my chopsticks. Limited menu but quite tasty. Good eats!
