I like this robot

Damn, that’s good CGI. You can hardly see the joins. The costs involved makes me wonder who would produce a thing like that? One of Boston’s rivals? Elon Musk?

No idea who these people are but quite likely they will be the first ones to go down when the AI insurrection begins

I remember reading some of BD plans a while back for a bot with a hopper and grabbing/cutting arm. I believe it would of had a external combustion engine and would need 200lbs of biomass to run a day. I remember thinking I am about 200lbs of biomass! :grimacing:

I think you’re probably safe for now. You contain too much water, and you’d make for very inefficient combustion. If a robot wanted to use you as fuel, it would likely have to cut you into slices, and hang them up to dry for a few weeks. Human jerky would work.

They’re CGI wizzards, actually.

The Bosstown movies appear to have been made using a human actor in a motion capture suit - most of the action then comprises a CGI robot matted directly over the live action. The giveaway here (and it’s subtle) is that the robot’s actions are too human. Real machines, even state of the art ones, just don’t move that fluidly. Then, right at the end, where the robot picks up the dog, jumps 20 feet, then runs away at 40 MPH - obviously, the human actor couldn’t do that, so both the image and the movement are computer generated - and it shows. We suddenly switch from Terminator to Ray Harryhausen.

Honestly, though, the barriers to uncanny valley are deteriorating. We’re only a short step away from effeects you can’t detect.

I have a love/hate relationship with Corridor Digital…

I like the content of the videos but I really dislike the guys, I feel like I’m trapped in a room with the loud annoying sound from Dumb and Dumber. It’s like they took the energy from the Mythbusters 2nd unit but then they accidentally dropped a pinch of logan paul into the mixture.

I think I’m like a dog sometimes and I just can’t be around certain personality types '^_ ^ Is there a term for a very specific yet aloof form of racism? Bigotry?? I’m bigoted towards whatever it is about some of these guys…

But do tell me more about your CG knowledge…

Please, don’t ever come to America. You will go insane

I knew lots of Americans at universsity - there are loads of them come to Europe to study, particularly postgrad. They were, to a fault, really nice people.

But perhaps archaeologists are different.

I enjoy their videos, mostly when the try to figure out how it was done and when they debunk ufo stuff. They even had one on the Air Force/Navy videos that was being past in the media and being looked at by the government. Real footage, nothing extraordinary.

And a lazy meme…
:robot: Robot 1:ā€œHow do you like your human?ā€

Those were different people. Long gone.
Ok. Many people are still nice but a growing number don’t want you to even smile at them. It is hard to describe.
On a weirder note, there was a huge Verizon cellphone outage recently. Many iPhones went into SOS mode. And Verizon won’t say what the cause was so now the FCC is investigating…

PSN randomly went down across the board for a few hours too the other night, I wonder if it was related?

Bastards actually caught a flying tower midair, and nothing exploded. Nice work!

That’s one hell of a smoker, though. There’s still a long way to go until actual reusability. Still, now that they’re getting a chance to look at the actual thing, they might make it work.

Asteroid Terrestrial-impact Last Alert System

Looking towards the West minutes after sunset to view Comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS.
The 16th of October could be one of the best days to view this with the naked eye, as the comet is moving away and would dim in brightness day by day.
