Has anyone tried to play the new beyond update in Offline mode yet and is it possible to use VR Offline as well, I can’t update my game my Internet is down.
Are you PS4 or PC or Xbox
Steam still has not released Beyond
Currently playing on PS4, offline. I do not have VR.
@SamsonPI: I changed your reply into a topic of its own. Will be useful to know and I am sure someone will have an answer some time soon.
I’ve had a short go on PS4 normal offline in non-VR using an existing save.
Runs fine and although the Anomoly is rather empty (apart from a few NPCs), it all works smoothly while offline.
Had some crash issues at my base as reported in a different topic, which I suspect maybe a conflict with a prexisting mission with a highlighted base computer…or simply an issue to do with the base itself. Ran fine at the other more complex base.
I believe VR will work fine offline as there is no reason for it to require an internet connection that I’m aware of.
Offline works fine. On fact, the game runs better offline. I am using a ps4(non-pro) and thr game crashes on planets, in the nexus, in the middle of missions, and in a freighter. But on offline, the crashes are less and most crashes offline have been while on planet so far.
Kinda spoilery but for those worried about multiplayer
Not sure it’s spoiler material, but I know some don’t want to see anything until they can for themselves
I can confirm that in Offline Mode
There are a few walking NPC’s , Nada, Polo, Quicksilver Bot and some merchants.
We need a broken heart reaction
Edit :Belay my last
Small edit above. I found some in the corner…lol They are the new quest NPC’s
Can anyone remember which recent interview where Sean mentioned about the percentages of single vs multiplayer. Wasn’t it like 20% play it multiplayer? Or did I imagine it?
That’s the figure I remember too.
Can’t find where the vid was…
Yeah, I remember something about them saying that multiplayer wasn’t played that much so they were releasing this big multiplayer update to entice more in. It’s just I’m seeing people think that they are in the minority when they play single player whereas actually they’re the majority. Ok, back from work so I’ll have another thorough look through my history.
I usually play alone but I really love the Nexus with real people everywhere.
Thanks! I’m not very good at watching videos - I prefer reading. I will link that every time someone says single player is a minority.
I think, apart from obvious multiplayer games, most games that have option for SP or MP will have only minority of MP. But MP people tend to also be in chat and forums more - which makes SP people seem like a minority. And MP people only know other MP people so they think they are in the majority. You can extend that to outside of games as well. Everyone in their own bubble thinking that everyone thinks like them.
I’m super happy at the moment as just fixed a problem that I had with this game and now I can play in VR.
So I’m in VR and walked near a snappy and I jumped (aaaah!) when it went snap. Ha ha.
I might actually go into nexus, maybe, but probably not for long.
This has happened to me a couple of times now. I lose connection and this screen pops up, I try to ‘close’ but it won’t do it. I have to shut down the game and start over.
That is interesting. I have terrible internet and have never seen that. Maybe it was overload on their end. There are certainly a lot of people playing around the clock. Were you in the Nexus or in a party when it happened? I have had to reload my game offline a couple of times and still no problem
Turning off NETWORK & continuing offline will get rid of it. PS4
I had just left the Nexus. Not in a party. I think things are still happening in the background because when it happened in VR I could see around the warning page. I was warping to a planet and I was about to crash so I had to close the game down.
