Sometimes the Switch reminds me that it is a miracle it can run this game. Actually, I kinda like this. Looks like the planet is in the process of being ‘programmed’ which, I guess it really is…

Ahh … the good ol days. Loved the true feeling of being alone in a vast universe, as promised.
Was not thrilled with having so few flora near that I could not reach my ship on the first two tries. 
On my third try, I reloaded without a save until I got a better “roll.”

Volcano salesman 
(slaps volcano) “These big boys are indestructible! … (crash)… Aaand this is what they look like from the inside!

(When I landed at the target location, a volcano disappeared. I built my base somwhere, and after I came back the next day, the volcano was back and covered half my base and my whole exocraft. After I moved the building, I wanted to retake the base screenshot, and the camera was stuck behind an invisible wall inside the volcano…)

There is a patch for that in experimental. I have been trapped inside a volcano before…you cannot mine them

There are checks done when the world renders and the player is about to spawn in. If you have a base covered by volcano, there is a good chance it does not spawn. This is the case with many terrain objects, even as big as volcanoes. Of course when you then leave and return through ‘normal’ means of transport, the volcano may be there again.

Was just playing on Switch. Flew to the 2nd ‘check in’ point and found a huge volcano sitting right on the landing pads. So I landed on the ground and ran around to see if I could fly in through the side of the celestial archive only to find the volcano was gone. Checked in then got out as fast as possible.
