Glitches and Funny Pics: The Lighter Side

This is getting some attention on Facebook and YouTube today. Apparently when they added new planets, they did not check if there was already a planet there. You can walk from one planet to the other, but things get a little wonky and you can fall through the planet. In Euclid in case you want to visit. The portal for at least one of these planets is in the overlap zone and if you portal there, bad things happen, so if you go there, use the Diplo (3) as the first glyph.

You know how it is when you fly into a storm and you can’t see ten feet in front of you, and you bang into the planet’s surface, and you just want to land till the crap storm is overwith?

Summary

I tried to land, and it went okay, so when the storm broke I hopped out… and had an experience.

It looks fine here.

But when I hopped out of my fighter, I saw this…

Honey, you’ll never guess where I parked…

I fell hundreds of feet. Thank God for jetpacks. I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to get back to my ship because that rock was floating! But fortunately there was a high enough ground peak nearby that I was able to scoot against the side of it and juuuust made it back.

I guess your heart skipped a beat when after exiting the ship, instead of standing still, suddenly you just fell god knows where. :man_cartwheeling: I’d be like “whoa what the… what’s happening??” My ship landed on crazy places a few times too, but this trumps those all.

Also after seeing from the ground where your ship is:

(okay seriously how can I link this as an image I tried with the upload / link to image, and HTML tag also, neither worked all just points back to the giphy site link and the giphy embed won’t work here)

@zelbacsi: I have made a tiny edit to your post above to show the image. You have to make sure that the link is on a separate line all by itself

Is there no longer the ability to move your ship to your location?

When I was in game a couple of days ago I was able to do so…

(Not quite as fun and dramatic, though…)

I did that working the last hour, so it’s working on PC.

Oh, right, I totally forgot I could summon my ship, along with all my other vehicles. That’s what I get for not immersing myself in this universe for so long…

I definitely had a jump scare. There was the tiniest of footholds when I jumped out, but a second later I slipped and down I dropped. I’m afraid of heights, so when I looked down I almost lost my keyboard, I was so startled. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Fortunately I wasn’t so flustered my muscle memory saved me, and like I say, I completely forgot about the summon feature so I was scrambling for a way back up. Using the jetpack was more fun anyway.

I also encountered another poorly placed structure. I’m not sure anyone is catching them, so I’ll go ahead and reveal them.

I think the construction crew misread the layout.

You can just see three Vy’keen having a discussion under the superstructure above. “This place… it’s so grah.”

My strangely floating ship, the only one that does.

Did they forget to mow the grass again??

The poor Vy’keen pilot wandered around for a minute, trying to figure out where to stand to be next to his ship.

A blistering storm blew in while I was watching for fighters, and I was beginning to think there wasn’t room under the roof to hide for a moment!

Origin’s brand new cross shaped anomaly
It only happened on one planet so far. This strange cross shaped overlay was flashing and blinking in and out constantly on my screen. It was really hard to watch after a while, so I left the planet real soon. The Atlas didn’t want me to explore this one planet. :astonished:
