In the late sixties and early seventies, sometimes at gigs, but particularly at festivals, someone in the audience would shout “Wally!”. Other people would copy it - pretty soon, hundreds of people were shouting “Wally!”.
It had no meaning - there was no Wally. It was more like a bit of fun, coupled with a tribal recognition signal. Only people who were regular festival goers knew about it - people who weren’t in the know were left wondering “Who the hell is Wally?”
My generation was laughing at 42 and 1337, and the next younger generation was laughing at 69. Older people in Germany call mediocre things “0 8 15”. Let’s let the current generation have their number…
This might be the first article I ever read that I understand every word perfectly fine, but have no idea what the hell everybody’s talking about. What’s up with 6-7? And why are dances banned at schools?
Well those are the million dollar questions. No one seems to have any idea what 6 7 means, even the person who put it in a song, which seems to have started the whole thing
The only thing that confuses me is how juggling is considered dancing
Something to do with old British by-laws or ye olde royale decree. It’s usually either or.
This is tragic for those involved but something about a potato supplier dying in a crisp factory accident is the most Irish thing I’ve heard in a while.
Hmmm… I can foresee a future where people are scrambling to try and train AI to not put trademarked symbols into videos. And failing. I’m not sure what’s going to happen then…
Laws updated to hold the owner of the AI liable for its actions. Ten to one that’s the result. In response the AI providers will include restrictions in their terms of use so that they can in turn sue the users and deny further access. Might not be able to train the AI to not do things it is asked to do, but training it to ignore potential users that have been flagged as offenders is definitely in their wheelhouse.
Well, this video is from a Google backed enterprise - so it could be stopped, if anyone was that bothered.
But most of the popular video generation AIs are Chinese based. Some are open-source, downloadable, and will run on your home PC. Posted onto something like TikTok, or (better) 4Chan, and how is anyone going to stop them?
I have not eaten McDs in years. Then last year, I found out one of the local McDs was overrun with rats. People had scores of videos online of them coming out of the ceiling tiles and running behind the counters.
It was shut down, exterminated. Cleaned. Repaired. Sold.
