Oh wow, I’d never even heard of such a phenomenon. We just get rain here, and then sometimes more rain. Hope everyone in your area is warm and safe <3
Best of luck on both coming back online
“There’s a sucker born every minute.”
I’m still in awe of P T Barnum’s way to keep people moving through and out of his museum .
He posted a sign:
“This way to the Egress.”
What do the aliens say when you put on an aluminum hat?
Curses! Foiled again!
Ahhh. So we do live a Charmed life!
This fandom wiki says 5…
“There are currently five different factions in No Man’s Sky, each with distinct languages, lore, and technology.”
This next coincidence broke me. I’m done speculating until I have at the very least a good five hours of sleep.
Nearly five years ago,19 days from now too, someone was looking for how many different communities? LoL goodnight
Alright, you got me, I’ll be the fifth to like this
Of course you’ll be the fifth to return the favour
And so the loop is started …
Went for an e-bike ride yesterday before a massive storm approached, and ended up capturing some lightning strikes. Somewhat difficult with my decade old hand held video camera.
- horizontal lines are caused by polarized sunglasses placed in front of video camera
- an unfiltered normal strike same spot
Oh! Those are so gorgeous!
Are you in the smoke area from the Northern forest fires in Canada/USA? Is that why the sky in the unfiltered one has an orange look?
Pardon my ignorance, but what is an e-bike?
Prolly like an e-scooter. They are so handy for getting around
Yep. Popular in Europe for some years, and now legal in the UK. an e-bike is an ordinary pedal bicycle fitted with a battery and electric motor.
Provided they’re limited in weight, and top speed, and they can be propelled by the pedals, they’re exempt from motor vehicle tax, licencing, and insurance requirements. They’re legally considered to be a pedal cycle, and, as such, anybody can ride one.
They’re proving very popular with people who would like to cycle, but because of their age, or health, or local geography (hills, headwinds), find a regular bicycle too difficult to use.
(edit) They’re also proving popular amongst young drugs dealers, who find them very handy for a quick getaway down back alleys or across fields, where police cars can’t follow.
It’s a bycicle that has an electric assist motor. The combination of human muscle with electric assist actually makes for a pretty effective vehicle with surprising range and average speed.
If I had a helmet I would totally be on an e-scooter while I am in LR. They just enacted stricter laws on them. I am currently unsure of where I can ride the scooters. There is a bike lane on most roads but not all.
I am sure criminals have used them for get aways here too
We have a strange situation here in the UK, where e-bikes are legal for anyone to ride, but e-scooters are not.
It’s currently illegal to ride your own e-scooter on public roads, but in some cities it’s legal to ride a rented one. Even with a legal, rented, e-scooter, you need a valid UK driving licence.
e-bikes, on the other hand, have no such restrictions - which is weird, when you consider they’re bigger, heavier, and faster, than scooters.
If it is anything like here, it is a simple matter of community leaders having no idea how to deal with these new-fangled ideas. My suggestion to them is, go ride one!
Edit: I was just waiting at a crosswalk with a girl using a scooter. I asked what the rules are and she said, I have no idea and just laughed then took off down the sidewalk with no helmet.
I may have to ride one.
That could be one way to find out what the rules are… lol
Maybe once I beat this cancer and get my eyes fixed I might get myself one. My thanks to everyone who answered my question.
