On the contrary, most misconceptions happen because it’s not taken all the way. Too many spherical cows in a vacuum make for a weird universe…

My son benchmarked the new Monster Hunter on my PC and just sat there with his eyes all wide and sparkly
Thinking I may jump in and start hunting monsters

I want to get it but im waiting for performance updates. I mainly use my laptop these days with a ryzen 7 4800H and rtx 2060. But some have reported that frane rate and stuttering being kind of bad.

Edit: corrected my specs. I wrote it with haste lol

How is it on your PC and what is the performance like?

My son cranked the settings up and it still benchmarked around 70-80 fps
You can download a free benchmark and run it
It is around 40 GB

I just downloaded the benchmark and I avergaed 44fps with my laptop specs at the lowest graphics settings

It averaged 55fps during the cutscene and would go around 30fps in the part during the gameplay demo at the beginning where there was a lot of grass and monsters around.

Well let me add this…the game keeps crashing on me and I haven’t even started to play…we will see what happens after I tweak a few things
I have never seen so many settings ever. Players must be overwhelmed

finally manged to play for a few seconds :joy: was running with a bunch of sandworms

I think I will take a break now…and maybe ask for my money back.

I tweaked the settings to how I would normally adjust it for other games, which is pretty much all medium settings and low in some minor things that dont make much of a visual difference to me and the results were this:

40 FPS overall
48 FPS average in the beginning cutscene
42 FPS average during the gameplay scene
And about 27fps at the lowest during the grass field scene and the little town at the end.

Although there are some weird graphical glitches that sometimes pop up too.

As much as I want to play the game, the graphics and low fps would start to bug me after awhile :sob:

Side note: im also waiting on Spiderman 2 to be optimized as well. :sob:

Fur Quality has two options. Imitation or real :drum:

Update, I had some stuff running the background that I forget were on still so after closing them out and trying again with the same custom medium settings:

Overall average - 49 fps
For the cutscene I was getting around - 65-70 fps
Gameplay parts - around 45-55 fps
Grass scene and little town- 32 fps at lowest but looked like an average of around 35-ish

Not great still but definitely more noticably comfortable to look at in the gameplay parts. And most noticably, reduced the weird pop-ins to a minimal.

BUT, the benchmark tool crashed a few seconds after it game me my overall result at the end. :upside_down_face: Got a pop up that said MHW is creating a crash report and took quite a long time to finish making that report.

More like “Imitation” or “same imitation, but lets move the fur around so it looks like we did something” :joy:

I didnt see any difference between the two. Atleast on my hardware, not sure if that was the same for everyone else.

I benchmarked great but actually running the game was a very different story.
Backed out to Monster Hunter Worlds. Will revisit Wilds at another time

I swear this was only announced not too long ago, surprised the release date is so soon, been looking forward to this one since it’s reveal <3

Creator of The Stanley Parable (anyone watching Severance?) and music from c418 of Minecraft fame

You should have no problem benchmarking this game

Too much caffeine will do that to you…may have to check it out

Been keeping my eye on that one as well. Considering this is Davey Wreden who made the game, I think a lot of us expect the game to have a dark turn. Lol. I finished the demo the day it came out and I have to say that it was actually pretty interesting but the demo was way too short to get a good idea of what the game will be like. It gave a nice chunk of story but the gameplay was pretty minimal and limited to only the absolute bare minimum lol.

Ill be getting this game likely day-1. I rarely do that.

I mean, the trailer pretty much says there will be. Doesn’t reveal what, obviously, but there’s certainly plenty of foreshadowing that this might be a somewhat deconstructivist shakeup of a harvest moon style formula.

I was a big fan of The Stanley Parable, and followed the progress of its creators with interest.

The other half of the Stanley Parable team, William Pugh, took the money he earned from Stanley, and set up his own studion - Crows Crows Crows. I signed up for their newsletter. They produced a short, free offering , “Dr Langeskov, The Tiger, and the Terribly Cursed Emerald”, which had a lot of promise, but was, unfortunately, never revisited.

Sadly, Pugh then seems to have decided that as he had a lot of money, he would devote himself to making the games he wanted, rather than those the market demanded. There followed a string of increasingly tedious, niche, and self-indulgent offerings that were neither fun nor funny. Of course, they flopped. Even when given away for free, nobody wanted to play them.

I presume that the Stanley money ran out eventually - running a studio is expensive, Crows Crows Crows must have been burning through cash, and none of their products made any profit. . Art is very fine, but it doesn’t pay the bills. The last I heard of William Pugh he had got back with Davey Wreaden to re-make The Stanley Parable.
