Games and Game-Related old and new

Firmament is looking more intriguing with every video released! I wish I had the time/energy to play more than two games (NMS and Warframe) I deleted Genshin Impact from my computer because it was so demanding, always psychological pressure to stay in the game.

But this one is really intriguing… >.>

@DevilinPixy suggested we try The Invincible.

I thought I would get some information on the developers, Starward Industries.

It turns out they are a Polish studio, and were involved with the development of Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 - both of which I would consider technically outstanding.

They also have a website, with team photographs. Now here’s a thing - the more I look at the team pictures, the more I think they don’t look real. They look like 3D rendered models. Virtual developers?

I see a lot of similarities in their facial features. Some of them have the same eyes. Some have the same nose or the same shaped face. Maybe they are all related to each other.

Looks more like excessively 'shopped than rendered to me, but I generally suck at visual acuity…

I had the same impression. Looks like they had one of these official business photograph days, and the professional photographer was the sister’s brother’s best friend, who brought his mom’s make-up and forgot to bring a proper light source, you know how it is, can all be fixed in the first post release patch.

I played half the demo this morning and it looks great! Only I don’t understand why the screen turns blurry. Is that relevant to the story or are they hiding stuff that is not part of the demo?

I finally did it. I finally got a PS5…and I thought that woman narrator was going to drive me to the brink of destruction before I finally was able to get to settings to turn her off.

Haven’t played mine since FF7 INTERmission…only got digital version. Not a big Sony guy. Still got 5 new xbox games still in wrapper haven’t gotten to lol. Batman Arkham / Uncharted were the games that got me in PS3, and FF7, Spider-Man got me into PS4. PS5 really is only for FF7. Sad I know.

Yeah. My kids wanted the ps4 so badly, and since 5 is more available now, I got it. I pass on XBox because I have a Windows PC which gives me access to XBox games. This is likely my last console.

Congrats on the new console,
I have much enjoyed our PS5.
Upgrading the No Mans Sky version resulted in much less pop-in & way faster loading times. Minimal crashes too.

I recently played Hogwarts Legacy through a few times on various difficulty settings, which was good fun. Simply beautiful aesthetically & exactly the style of game I was able to waste hours & hours on, exploring, stiring up trouble & generally enjoy myself exploring the huge world.

We then downloaded the Last Of Us 1 (PS5 revamped version) which I’d skipped playing years ago (because of a ‘too soon’ personal reason regarding the opening sequence).
The graphics have been heavily reworked & it is a very pretty game in a dystopian, apocalyptic kind of way. The button configuration is weird & the world is not ‘open’ but after a while you settle into it. I’m glad I finally had the chance to play it & it is one of those rare games where other family members would sit down & watch with you like it was a movie.

So we do enjoy our PS5.
Little games like Dredge & The Last Campfire are crisp & super quick loading.
My only gripe is that the extended memory cannot be played directly from like a PS4, which means copying data back & forth which can be annoying.
Fortunately I’m 99% retired & have spare time but it seems like an odd move by Sony.
Also, I’m not a big fan of the resistant/reactive triggers on the controllers so I turn that feature off as the battery time is greatly reduced & I find it intrusive.

You can swap out the SSD for a larger one but they cost almost as much as the console. :grimacing:

If the graphic doesn’t have a random NMS marketing screenshot photoshopped in, how are we supposed to understand what this means?!?

PS: Space Engineers just released its beta for Playstation yesterday, if any of you playstationeers is getting it, I gladly answer gameplay questions. :smirk:

:sob: I need to report a bug for Zelda Tears. If you have your save file from BoW, you will find any horses you stabled still available in Tears. I was thrilled! I have a beautiful white horse with a gold mane named Shadowfax. I was riding him then jumped off to help this guy with a sign. When the mission completed, my horse had vanished. It is not in the stable and it is not on the map. :sob:

I guess we crashed it trying to get our Firmament goodies and codes :scream:

It is kinda funny in a way…I mean yeah, let’s tell everyone it releases at 10 am Pacific time. Let’s give them a countdown clock on several social media platforms so no matter where in the world they live, they will know exactly when that is…so naturally, within 10 minutes…CRASH.
I got the manual downloaded. That’s the important thing right?

Thanks for reminding me about Firmament! So it’s out now, or some sort of Early Access? Can you recommend it? I’m in favour but with VR games I generally rather wait for the first few patches.
